"Boy this kid, he's not having a great year. You want to see development, improvement, and he's still stuck. He's not scoring, he's gotta improve his shot. According to his GM, the shot isn't there"
"He's gonna play for Russia's World Junior team, most likely he'll be captain. He's going to get a coach who absolutely loves him, Igor Larionov. He's going to get a ton of ice time and look, he's gotta dominate. This kid is going to get icetime, be on the PP"
@DhaliwalSports - Pacificgem
19 year old against men, it'll be interesting to see how his shot looks against players his own age.
Like others said, if it's just his shot letting him down – not his skating, or defense, or hustle, or puck handling, or passing – then that's an attainable improvement. |

Igor needs to stop pumping the kid's tires and let him find his own way. The WJ tournament should help his confidence. Get him to the AHL and develop him properly.

Hockey IQ and Work Ethic are the only things you can't teach. He has the skill and most of his other assets are at an NHL level. |

EP40 looked pretty good against men in the best men’s league in the world, that’s not a good argument, he needs to be better. I know is sac religion to say anything slightly negative about a Canucks prospect, however, let’s see how he plays against his peer group at the World Juniors. |

Fuk yeah, the pass rush should be better now, especially when we get Jamal Adams back!

That leave Zack Mac, Rousell and Holtby as exposed. - NuckUp
Motte over Lind? I think you need to get a look at Lind in the NHL this year before making that call |

That Tyler Motte is on a protected list tells you everything you need to know about this team as it’s currently constructed... |

Lind will be okay, not a fair comparison.

Like Cody Hodgson? - Marwood
Hodgson was a poor skater, not the case for Pod, I’m no expert but I’m just not sold on this kid. I think it was another poor pick, on top of Virtanen and Juolevi. |

Jesus you're di ckish. Did I not just say the same thing?
EP has an elite shot. Podkolzin doesn't. There are very few players in the NHL that can shoot like Petey, no one is saying or demanding Podk does that too. He's a prospect, he'll get better, his game isn't perfect, and neither is anyone's at that age.
So, care to answer the question previous then... from "what you've seen" amounts to watching KHL games? Or checking box scores? |

I've heard John Weisbrod has a strong voice on picks. Apparently his valuation of players has raised some eyebrows even back to his day's in CAL.

Where’s Redmile these days? I thought we would be seeing more of him now that the Flames have become our dispersal draft team. |

Why couldn't we do this? Despite his weaknesses, kid could have been a pretty good winger for Bo. |

Because we’re 1.5 million over the cap already. Having to move even more money to be compliant would be difficult given the pandemic circumstances. |

This is only true of a defenseman. Even as it stands for forwards they'll have to decide to expose one of Lind, Pearson, Virtanen. - NorthNuck

Oh that's right, my bad. I was looking at the capfriendly tool I just forgot expiring contracts don't count.
Regardless, they have to protect Lind right? That means there's not really any fwd slots left. - NorthNuck

JB really has two easy options right now to get cap compliant.
If Ferland can't play the start of the year, LTIR. Otherwise, like Carol said, sending down LE and Sven saves 2 mil, and voila.
Would be nice to know about Ferland, as that gives them a bit more wiggle room to add a player. |
