Good for Olofsson getting $3.05m 2 years but you know you also received 2 years $3.05m C. Tierney, is there any justice?

What does either player have to do with the other???

Next move...
Buyout Okposo... he is owed $9mil in salary over next 3 seasons and $5 million in bonus. Buyout would save Pegulas $3mil in salary AND spread out the cap hit over time. Cash savings would be $2mil, $1mil, and $3mil over next 3 seasons and the cap savings per year would be reflected as such... allowing Kevyn Adams to get closer to a lower internal cap. Tradeoff is the $1mil cap hit for years 4-6 post buyout.

Move after that...
Trade a defenseman: Montour ($3.85mil), Risto ($5.4mil) or Miller ($3.875).

If they did both of the above (including the fact that cash is less than cap for Staal, Girgensons, Olofsson, Eakins, Thompson and others), the Sabres would find themselves pretty close to the $10mil lower internal cap that was rumored by several hockey reporters.

From a fan perspective, it would also create cap space for a goalie like Marc Andre-Fleury (especially if Vegas would agree to take Hutton back, as well) and/or a return of Kahun (Kreuger likes him and no reports of him out there that I have seen)… or maybe one more short-term splash into UFA market.

Fleury has been declining for a few years
That would be a terrible idea

Pilut is LH, not right

No one wanted Bogo at his cap hit
No one would give us anything good for Risto
And there was no way to know that when we traded for Miller, that Chicago would lose their minds & give away Jokiharju

Your oversimplification of the situation doesn’t accurately depict why things happened the way they did

My bad on Pilut

My explanation of why Montour's numbers look the way they do is absolutely correct. Botterill horded RHD which forced Montour to LD and sometimes LW

One is a top six goal scorer and the other is a bottom six

Thank you. People overreact with Buffalo all the time I don’t get it; (the proverbial) they are quick to poop on a team who has a storied and relatively successful past. The reason they’ve sucked since the dual owners gave up was embracing the tank, and it’s hopefully finally coming to fruition. We aren’t that far behind Edmonton in terms of team building...
