I mean might be sound logic. Next year there will be 32 teams. What are the odds they ever win a cup now??

So going to be many takes on the question, but I take best canuck as leadership, off-ice, talent, tenure ... everything.
1. Henrik Sedin - the talent, the determination, the leadership, the off-ice
2. Trevor Linden - off-ice obviously. came back after unceremoniously being dumped. i don't think any cup losing teams will be remembered as fondly league wide as the '94 team ... it's almost as if they won
3. Markus Naslund - if west coast express could have been paired with a goalie, honestly think i these were our best teams
4. Pavel Bure - pure talent would be #1 by a mile. despite anything else, captivated the city like no other
5. Daniel Sedin - took a backseat to his brother leadership wise, but can't leave an Art Ross winner off here ... especially for this organization
No defenseman ... just none in that same ball park. Hopefully that changes with Quinn. Honourable mention Lu, but I couldn't make the case for him to bump anyone else. Feel like the shine of him got brightest after he left Van and opened up. He never should have accepted the 'C'. Management's fault, but he should have laughed it off and said thanks, but i have enough to do out there.
30's something age bias here too. - Sayros
This is the right list imo, I’d put Bure ahead of Naslund though. I never thought of Markus Naslund as a playoff performer, however, his playoff points per game isn’t that bad. It’s too bad that 2003 team couldn’t get over the hump, the twins just weren’t old enough yet and they could’ve done some damage with some goaltending. |

They should do away with the salary cap so we can see dynasty teams again, or at least have a luxury tax where the wealthier teams can exceed the top end of the salary cap. |

I mean they drafted him, they 100% knew about his past. They're doing this in response to the public outcry. |

The right move would have been to not draft him, but yeah, at least they're meeting the minimum. |

Maybe you shouldn't take things out of context because if you read FFS it was on post follow up to racism acts catching up to a drafted player..... ergo held accountable Or is your Benning hate so blind you just can't stop yourself from bashing because hey its all good fun... right. |

Thanks Carol....umm, for one, no, you can’t group the Sedins into one person. Twins are people too and they have feelings ya know
Secondly, any list with a player (Pettersson) who’s played two years in the league for the Canucks is completely disingenuous in my humble opinion.
Not having Trevor Linden on your list is shocking lol, was Linden one of the better NHL players, no, obviously not, but he’s certainly top five on any all-time great Canucks list for sure.
In Linden‘s first 10 years with the Canucks he played 702 games, he scored 569 points for an average of 0.810 points per game, he had six 30 goal seasons, played in 79 playoff games and amassed 80 points in those 79 games. He was an absolute playoff warrior who lead this team within one game of the Stanley Cup.
When he came back in 2002 he was in his early 30s and obviously on the downhill side of his career, which skews his numbers, but, his first 10 years with the Canucks were top five of all-time.
Come at me sister - Pacificgem
I'd still have Linden in my Top 10, I think. But here's why he doesn't crack my Top 5:
Before '94, Linden was perceived to be a bit of a disappointment. The fanbase wanted him to be a 40-goal scorer like Mike Modano. The fanbase was annoyed that he was maybe more effective as a winger than a center. The fanbase was disappointed that he didn't give 100% effort every game.
I saw a lot of live hockey during that period, and I do think there were nights when Trev mailed it in. The short attention spans of the modern era have been kind to his on-ice legacy. Wonder about toughness? Show the GIF of him slamming Jeff Norton through the glass. Wonder about giving 110%? Look at his two goals in Game 7 in '94.
To me, those two goals showed that he *did* have more to give. He was the only guy who still had gas in the tank at the end of such a gruelling series.
I think his 'grizzled veteran leader' role after his return gets conflated a bit with the 90s, when he wasn't necessarily the total package game in and game out.
Also, I'm conflicted about his role in the 2004-05 lockout, and how he was basically the catalyst for convincing the players to accept the salary cap. |

Tampa Bay is getting lots of attention lately. Cup win, RFA's for grabs, World Series finals, hurricanes and now the most important electoral county in the States that could send Trump packing. |
