On one hand, he was charged, went through the justice system and accordingly, seems to have paid (at least part of?) his debt to society.
On the other hand, playing and representing the league is a privilege and so to would be to represent his school's hockey team.
Lucky for him the school will give him an opportunity to continue learning... - Fisticus
BS, he's paid no debt, f888 him, I hope he gets to play in the ECHL, they'll sort him out.
"Four years ago, Miller admitted in an Ohio juvenile court to bullying Meyer-Crothers, who was tricked into licking a candy push pop that Miller and another boy had wiped in a bathroom urinal.Meyer-Crothers had to be tested for hepatitis, HIV and STDs, but the tests came back negative, according to a police report."
POS, and the Yotes Scouts, they were on point.

Question for you BB, should a teenager pay for 1 year of bad decisions and influence, for life? Or do you believe that teenagers should pay for their crappy decisions for life? |

He doesn't have to pay for it his entire life. Hell be fine. He definately made his ability to play in the nhl more difficult. Kid made a mistake there are consequences. Hopefully hes a better person now and I'm sure NHL or not he will live a decent life. I hope he learned a lesson and apologized and meant it. |

the bullied kid's mom tweeted the other day. she said that there were 2 boys who were charged. the other kid approached the victim personally to apologize. the victim accepted the apology.
the coyotes player apologized to the judge... and he sent out an apology to all the GMs before the draft saying that he was remorseful.
he has never apologized to the victim.
draw your own conclusions. |

totally agree.
i'd tell him that if he was a lot more talented, i might think differently. yes, that is hypocritical. but it's a cruel world out there. something he should know about. |

IMO they will step back next season. - VanHockeyGuy
Wrong again, thankfully.
Team will surprise many again. Short season, which is in their favour with the young stars. I expect at least two support level young players will make a significant impact this upcoming season.
Next offseason, bridge deals will get done for EP/QH/TD and Benning will fill some needs in the lineup after getting a season to audition his older prospects. Team is well positioned to build a contending team as vet contracts drop off and young guys/Benning additions replace them. |

Ya, this is what caught my eye in his response to the news coming out post draft. His statement read that he had “issued” an apology. That, along with the personal nature of the other individual’s apology to the victim, shows me that there is not much remorse.
People need to be able to pay their debt to society and move on with their lives...but included in that is a need for that person to learn from their mistakes and evolve as a human. Sounds like this kid still has some growing to do (or more than likely the adults around him do).

They will take a step back next season to make Benning think about the sh*tty contracts that some of the armchair GM's said would bite him in the ass down the road when cap space will be needed. |

It is disappointing to see a child hood hero in this light.
Now what about the assertion that Pettersson should never had agreed to the spitten chicklets Interview is that not similar by endorsing the on air actions of Bissonnette and Whitney? - Makita
I had to read in to Spittin Chicklets to respond to this, I agree that Petey should never have done the interview after ready what terrible people those two are, but it is a nothing like endorsing a POS like Trump. |

I have seen a lot of comments come out now that have said that people considered Miller and the other boy to be friends.
I've also seen people make claims that the boy has autism but have read that he has ADHD in a minor form as well.
One boy who has said that the Meyers boy's mother is like the ultimate Karen.
No offence but people take this celebrity athlete poop WAY to (frank)en far.
There is reasons that at 18 you can have your record expunged. You really think 14 your old kids or even 16 year old kids know what they are doing.
I know (frank)en 40 50 year old people that have never matured.
Should people be held accountable for the actions. Most certainly but here could have been a teaching moment for the NHL and UND. |

There is way too many perfect people out there. Especially on the internet. People should probably take a long look at their own lives before they judge others. |

Whoa Whoa Whoa...stop making sense man. The Minions and their leader have been predicting a 'step back' for 4-5 seasons now but the team just keeps rising in the standings lol. Sooner or later they are hoping to be right so they can post 4-5 years more of the same sh!t again and tell us all...'we told you so' |

Meh, Covid has nothing to do with it. The minions have been predicting this exact scenario for four years. If Benning hadn’t shot his load so early he could have signed the players he wanted, made the Smitty trade and still had money to burn. - 1970vintage

I thought the article in canucksarmy by Stephen Roget showed well that Tanev last season was not capable of playing against other teams top competitions nightly was good.
Schmidt is an upgrade over Tanev. Also showed that the make up of the team defence was not very good.
As for the forwards. Team was 2nd in scoring when it was shut down. They didn't have Toffoli and Boeser in the line up until the playoffs which was like 7 games that the team wasn't that great at.
Upgrade in scoring wasn't what the team needed. |

Well.... not 4 years ago, but the moment that Beagle signed I said that it would cost us a good player down the road. Vantel and I had many words over this with him stating that the cap wouldn't be a problem, Yada Yada.
The cap is a problem, with TT gone for a good contract I'm convinced of my convictions.

Even though It would have been nice to have Toffoli back we were winning without him which I'm sure they looked at.
Schmidt is 100% better than Tanev and his potential injuries.
Only question will be is can Holtby/Demko handle the load and I think they can.
Markstrom's groin has been an issue as well which people don't seem to mention much.
Losing Stecher won't hurt us one bit.
We now have a legit 1-2 punch on D for the first pairing and Edler/Myers are more than capable in the second pairing minutes.
Round out the 5-6 slots with Rafferty and a few other and the D will be better than people think.
Are you back full time or just checking in?

Fair enough.
Im genuinely curious where the line gets drawn in terms of who are good people and bad here.
Barstool Bad
Biz and white support barstool therefore they are bad
Petey and Bo have supported Biz and whit so they should also be bad (or can wr make excuses for them cause we like them)
Genuinely curious vause could Petey have not just gone on a hockey show with 2 goofs and had a chat for 15 mins and leave it at that? Not defending either way I just find it very interesting the different povs of people |

The most talented Canuck player ever, and, it’s only HHOF’er, in the true sense.

On this day in 1991, Pavel Bure signed his first NHL contract with the @Canucks. He’d score 34 goals that season and win the Calder Trophy #Hockey365 #Canucks

- LordHumungous I just finished 15 days of working in Lacombe. 209 hours. I'm on vacation for 5 weeks now.
I might pop in and out, things are pretty slow other than this Miller thing. Not a lot to talk about.
The D though Myers and Edler were not good together.
I thought in the article it did show that Myers when playing with Hughes which i'm guessing would have been against slightly lesser competition, Myers improved. If they could find Myers a good compliment which could be OJ or Rathbone. Edler seemed to actually be better with someone who wanted the puck more than him. I Would like to see Raffy tried there. Raffy could be used as guy who runs the 2nd PP also.

On the defensive side, I would have liked to see Jim upgrade in Stecher with Tanev, and upgrade on Tanev with Schmidt. They could have had Tanev do for Joulevi what he’s done for Hughes. Anyway, it is what it is, two more years.
