Lafreniere's WJC days are over. He is a pro now, been there, done that and is not going to look back. He and his agent are not going to risk a season ending, career ending injury, take out insurance for a TSN Bob Mackenzie over-inflated tournament. Bank it. - GilPerreault11
Based on the AHL starting in February ..... the nhl wont be that far behind. So late December world juniors will be fine.
I think its good for ANY prospect to play as high level of hockey as possible. Think about it, they are kids. How many of them skated during covid and could train.
Eichel / other pros went to Florida to use the gym and ice to stay in shape. Not even every player could do that. Okposo barely bought a peleton bike more than half way through quarintine.
Cozens hasnt played a single game since .... March? Maybe. He lives in a town that melts their ice during the summer. So i mean, he could use all the ice he can get.

Did I mention Cozens? Cozens is more a prospect than the 1st pick overall of the NYR. Lafreniere has been the chosen one for years. Cozens is not Lafreniere.

They’re 100 times more likely catch Covid in a locker room than from a body check. |

So here’s a question. The league isn’t the one that said no checking, it was the government, what happens if the refs don’t call it a penalty? It’s not a penalty unless they re-write the rule book...
My guess is by the time the league starts in Feb there will be body checking or there won’t be a season.
The Ontario “minister of sport” made that decision. Sounds like something out of the USSR... |

Draft is over, number is irrelevant - both are top prospects in respective organizations |

Try to convince me McDavid wouldn’t be dying to compete again after this shutdown? If the fire is inside he’ll play. If he’s in this for corporate/safe approach I’ll call bust. |

It just seems dumb on a number of fronts
Also, does no checking in Ontario apply to NHL games played there
Imagine the NHL trying to navigate that poopshow |

Depends on when the nhl season starts? Does in overlap the world juniors?
One top prospect may be needed at the pro level
One top prospect may not be needed at the pro level

Yeah but winter in the Yukon starts in late August. So they've probably had ice for months |

So in his interview Olofsson says he talks about getting better defensively and says he could be even more dangerous playing RW. |

I don’t think either are needed but I will agree L’s potential upside gives him immediate opportunity.
I’m assuming nhl starts late January |

Okay that is great if they did.
My point is ..... if you are Lafreniere or cozens or any prospect. You need to get on the ice as much as possible.
You don’t have the same access to gyms and ice then a professional player has. |

They have both signed their ELC’s. They very much so have the same access.

Could the Carolina connection happen again. Can Gettleman and Beane come to a trade agreement for Tomlinson. |

Not a bad idea, for depth and with Wallace getting close, and the way Jackson looked, maybe Jackson goes to slot CB cause Taron has been bad. |

They need Levi Wallace back. What’s his status? Heard he was designated to return. He’s not showing up on injury report. Dude was playing good. High skill pick vs. Rams. Feliciano same thing. By far last year’s best lineman and it wasn’t even close. |

Feliciano is playing this week, they activated him the other day. Wallace still has 2 weeks before he has to be brought back. He has been riding a bike and doing things on the side they said. |
