Idk.... seems like some feel all the moves in the NHL are done
Or maybe it’s just other teams that can still make moves??? - jdfitz77
Or if a move was there to be made, it would’ve been done by now.
Do I feel there’s still a move or two involving the defense? Yes
Are they going with what they have in net? IMO, unfortunately yes. |

Why?
Why can a move on defense be made,
but not in goal??? |

More than likely a 42 game schedule starting in February. You say upgrade the goaltending but why would sign Ullmark then. He will probably play close to 30 games. I can’t buy any thought that there will be any change in the goaltending other than Hutton may play more than Ullmark in the end. - Camel
Where are you seeing that? The last I saw a couple days ago was 1/1 and 82. |

82 games would probably mean the Stanley cup in August?
Seems like future seasons should start Thanksgiving eve - july |

They won’t be starting on the 1st.
A) No way they’re doing camp through Christmas
B) It’d be announced already as camp would need to start in 2ish weeks
C) Unless fans are attending, they ain’t playing.
82 game season is also a pipe dream as well. The previous lockout was 48 with a mid January start. That should be used as a template. |

There's been many rumors that those inside the NHL would like to see a permanent season shift, meaning a 1/1 season start and the cup being handed out sometime in September.
While that wouldn't mean an 82 game season if they do not begin until 2/1, it would mean much more than a 48 game regular season. |

The NHL does a ton of stupid things.
This sounds like another one.
Imagine the ice condition in July and August?
Stupid is as stupid does.
Edit: I doubt the players agree to it. They like their summers off. The NHL and Owners would have to give up quite a bit to get the players to agree. |

We'd have a better chance of winning if Garappolo was playing, imo. |

Certainly possible we could still wanna make a move |

Camp usually starts mid September. NHL camps are way shorter than NFL ones or Spring Training.
The Avs opened their 19-20 camp 9/13, they announced 8/16, so if we don't hear anything in the next 2 or 3 weeks it'll probably get pushed, but last I saw their official line was 1/1 and 82. They did say that could change, but they hoped to get a full season. So other than Twitter fairies I'm going with the official line, and if it changes it changes, whatever. |

The entire premise of everything you’re saying is wrong
We currently have 3.5mil in Cap room - jdfitz77
Yes, they currently have $3.5 remaining, which doesn't include Mitts...so reduce that by $800 or so., bringing it down to about $2.7m.
It would be prudent to hold back some for:
- ELC Bonuses
- call ups
Using the $1.4m of last seasons Bonus as an estimate, it leaves them with about $1.3m in space...which is a decent amount to hold for callups.
They could get an additional $750k if they elect to eat only 50% of the Bo us Overage from last season and roll that I to next season...which would be an incredibly bad idea given the number of contracts needed for next off season.
I stand by my statement they absolutely need to shed salary to bring in a quality G or quality LhD.

If Cozens, Dahlin, and Joker all hit their bonuses, we are about 1.7M over the cap.

Speaking of Dahlin, when this season starts, he better be ready to go. No excuses. Hes a #1 overall, show it. Show that you are the next Doughty, Keith, Karlsson, Hedman.
Im not willing to accept "he's young" anymore.
Hes a #1 overall, its on HIM to carry more than his share of the weight from here forward |

He just turned 20 and he's already historically one of the top producing teenage defensemen of all time. So.. sorry he's not 29 year old Victor Hedman yet?
He still has years to hit his prime. Years. This misconception that every first overall pick needs to be the best in the league after a year or two in the league is bewildering to me. |

I don’t think Dahlin will have a problem hitting his bonuses this year. He’s ready to breakout as long as Kreuger doesn’t hold him back |
