Yeah, would help out getting another big DT, Tomlinson's name keeps popping up. Will see, don't have a lot of draft capital either. - Buff36
I would LOVE that pickup... Lets face it the bills are not winning a playoff game with this defense as it sits now.

I'm speculating, but the pegulas would have a harder time signing any respectable future gms, if the "game" was to have guys quit before being fired?
I think the pandemic and their study determined a real crisis budget vs. An internal cap structure.
I'm also guessing botts hired the scouts and staff directly not the pegulas. Why would they fire people directly? It's also pretty well known that they have others do the "firing". (Maybe that's well known?)
I'm just passing along what I heard, I find it interesting and think it applies when posters bring up video tron scouting? - Boss34
It just seems like a weird way to go. But then again most everything the Pegulas do is weird. If Botterill actually made a principled stand while keeping his paychecks for 2 years then good on him |

Could be popping up because of the Carolina connection again. Yeah unless something drastic changes with that defense we won't go far. |

I added this too:
Take it or leave it 😉
the internal cap was more " employee structured " . I heard they felt a bit taken advantage of by people doing basically nothing.
IE- dozens of overseas scouts not hitting on anyone. Ever.
I'm guessing this, but Rochester had alot if expensive vets, randy Sexton was paid as an assistant gm ect.
They couldn't get out of the 1st round, didnt develop anyone other than oloffson and had communication issues with krueger |

Not saying you’re wrong, but this is sort of hilarious because that’s his M.O - being a great communicator

I wonder if letting Brandon Hagel go was his decision or Botterill's. Still don't get that one

Also the BH's have a prospect named Matej Chalupa which is a pretty fantastic name |

In fairness, most of the guys they drafted are just starting to hit Roch. It's pretty clear at this point that he inherited a barren system. His drafts could still go either way.
Everything you laid out financially makes sense. JB certainly believed in an expensive organization.

When did a Botterill-led team ever lead the division at the trade deadline? |

hopefully it's a sign of what's to come. - TheHank
Getting rid of a 6 time bankrupt, unable to obtain domestic loans? Moody's has the new guy rated leaps and bounds ahead of the current guy? That sign? I like it.

Weren’t we in first in the entire league 30 some odd games in a few years ago?
With our schedule and no defense the results might be similar |

Again, take this for what it's worth. I heard that krueger had barely (if at all) spoken to chris Taylor all season.
Takes 2 to communicate 🤔
Basically zero continuity between the clubs.
Seems ridiculous, but makes sense , with the Rochester house cleaning.

Another Carolina connection, adds depth and maybe takes Johnson out of the picture. |

They have $9.5m left and $6m more if/when they elect to place Zetterberg on LTIR.
They are a team to watch for profiting from teams up against it. |

Kinda ov crazy from the perspective of Ralph making a big deal last off season in bringing in all coaches from Cinci, Roch and Buffalo to gain consensus on the optimal system to play at all 3 levels such that players would be very familiar with it as they get called up.
One would assume the communication between all teams would be key. |

Definitely, but it did seem like something between Rochester and buffalo seemed oddly handled?
Casey , tage, dalton facepuncher, 8 d at times. Didnt we use a 7th d at forward?
For a guy players love and being such a worldly communicator, seems odd that they lacked continuity?
Maybe Taylor was in line for Ralph's job? Or thought he was? I imagine he interviewed with/against ralph?
Taylor always seemed like the natural lazy hire 🤔 |

Well no trades for a DT, maybe they try for Poe if he can get his ass in shape in a few weeks. |

I don’t hate the worley and lee pickups.
Worley sucked on the cowboys. I get that. But remember tre white is the 1CB and Norman / Levi Wallace #2. Worley is nice depth
Cam freaking Lewis was horrible. Worley can’t be worse than that |

I choose to believe that once they heard Botterill wanted to give a 3 year extension to Simmonds (per Gerbe - rest in pieces) they canned his ass |

Agreed, no way they were giving away Girgensons $ to Simmonds. Had to be the last straw |
