That’s kinda surprising that they would sign and trade him. Not hating it. Just find it interesting |

Rules change in the off season, but it continues to mistify management...since Drury and Briere, neither could handle opposing big centers when the whistles were put away.. and that was our best chance ever...should learn that you can't win the stanley with small fast speedy guys and no backbone |

Doesn’t mean he’s still any good
Past 3years sv% with Vegas: .927 to .913 to .905
Past 3yrs GAA: 2.24, 2.51, 2.77
Fleury is clearly declining
Gotta do better than that |

Certain parts bolded so you can read the post as if it's you own, but after this one I'm done with you.
I know you're NOT better than this but let me humor you
The team he plays on also has declined for 3 seasons straight. They went from one of the best defensive teams in hockey as well as being a scoring powerhouse, to being about as exciting offensively as the trap-era New Jersey Devils, all the while becoming completely suspect on defense.
MAF STILL MANAGED 8 SHUTOUTS LAST YEAR and FIVE SHUTOUTS THIS YEAR.
His "decline" has been wildly exaggerated by the same people who argue Cryin' Ryan Miller was an elite goalie. His last season in Pittsburgh was his literal ONLY bad season, and his only season where he posted above 3.00 GAA since his rookie year and the year post lockout, when he was 19 and 21 respectively - an age when most goalies aren't even SNIFFING the NHL, let alone the AHL - and even then it was hardly above 3.00 and his sv% was .909 - Pittsburgh was letting shots on net like it was nobody's business to play defense.
You also conveniently leave out the fact that goal scoring has also increased during the last 3 years.
Wow, crazy to think that as goal scoring has gone up to above 3.00 GA per game over the past 3 years from 2.97 per to 3.02 per game, his GAA has also gone up and still managed to stay well below the league average goals scored PER GAME.
All of this being said, the guy is 35 years old and has been playing in the NHL since he was 19 (frank)ing years old - Tell me how many other goalies played in the NHL as soon as they graduated High School and to the age of 35 and put up numbers as good as he has? I'll give you a hint - ONE of them is PATRICK ROY and his numbers are almost IDENTICAL to Fluery's and he played on an absolute POWERHOUSE AVALANCHE team to end his career.
The other is Martin Brodeur, and he played on a trap team and one of the best defensive teams in hockey history for almost his entire career and during the "dead" years of the NHL when scoring was at an all-time low. MAF played ONE season in the pre-lockout era as a 19-year old literal KID. Go look at Brodeur's sv% from the age of 35-on and you'll see that it was TRASH but his .GAA remained good because the TRAP SYSTEM.
SV% .GAA SO ( CAREER)
.910 2.54 66 ( ROY)
.913 2.57 61 ( MAF)
.912 2.24 125 ( BRODEUR)
MAF has played on some of the WORST defensive teams in NHL HISTORY and STILL PUT UP NUMBERS almost IDENTICAL TO ROY.
A slight decline over the past year could be argued, but you saying "MAF has been declining for years now" is complete and utter trash, but that's to be expected from you at this point because you're a drunk moron who talks out of his arse constantly and picks fights over literally everything, including nicknames for players and any time ANYONE posts an opinion, there you are ranting and raving at them and antagonizing them and wondering why the hell everyone tells you to go away and that you're a literal idiot.
Yes, I troll on here a lot, but it's because any time I post something hockey related and try to engage in some form of discussion, it's either ignored or some Trump-humping jaggoff turns it into some political non-sense because they don't know how to have a constructive argument, discussion or conversation without resorting to bullying tactics they learned in high school and can't seem to let go even at the age of god damn 60-something years old because they revel in the one time in their life where ANYONE liked them and they think people who want the citizens of this country to be taken care of by their government are the enemy instead of the greedy, sadistic (frank)S who run the god damn thing, now (frank) off. |

Sure Beady....
it’s the uptick in league wide goal scoring that accounts for the numbers,
and NOT that he’s about to turn 36 & has declined
His career stats have NOTHING to do with how good he is NOW
U do realize that, don’t you?
And obviously Vegas saw Fleury declining,
and that’s why they traded for Lehner
They certainly didn’t think they could win with him last year, but he’ll be the right guy for us? 😂😂
Vegas even moved out good players this offseason so they could fit Lehner under their Cap going forward, so they wouldn’t have to rely on Fleury
I’m not saying Fleury sucks
But it also doesn’t make sense to acquire a 36 year old goalie with declining stats & play, AND a huge Cap hit
It’s a bad idea dude
And somehow I managed a response without the personal attacks u constantly hurl towards me
Give it a try sometime |
