Ty Carol
Thinking on an all Canadian division means more travel & tougher competition. It could be a double edged sword for each team. It will make for some interesting convo. |

Assuming we will see more D prospects playing if & when the season starts will mean more mobility overall.
Cap reasons obviously are my reasons along with Schmidt playing big minutes. There will most likely be some growing pains but I’ll accept it. It’s an opportune time in some ways for prospects to break in especially in the likely shortened/condensed season. |

Is there anything VAN did this offseason that you didn't like? - VanHockeyGuy
I think you can apply this to all seasons. Definitely always sunshine and roses. |

Makita,
What do I like what VAN did this offseason?
a) Acquire Schmidt
b) Sign JV to a reasonable contract.
Just need to get Green signed to a long term deal now. |

Potential hope for pairings...
Hughes Myers
OJ Schmidt
Edler Rafferty
Rathbone platoons in for OJ
Benn only RHD platoon a little for Rafferty
Subject to in game juggling given the PP & PK & situational match ups. |

RW depth took a hit but in actuality the same as last year before Toffoli. Need Brock to take the next step & JV to mature.
Schmidt is big upgrade that imo will change dynamics greatly. |

Now that the shock of losing marky, tanev, TT is gone...the only one that string to me is TT. Love Marky and Tanev but glad those deals walked.
The biggest fail is not clearing enough space for TT. Other then that, I like the offseason really.

I liked TT as well. But his lack of speed was a concern for that long of a term. We are a fairly slow team to begin with |

TT walking disappointed given the cost to get him. That said nobody saw covid coming. |

Why would you throw a 2nd and a prospect away if that's the case? |

I’m not the GM? That being said, I wouldn’t trade our playoff run for Madden and a 2nd so I have no regrets. I can certainly see your viewpoint though
Edit. TT was the best rental to replace BB. I doubt Benning saw him as a perfect fit for Elias. As he mentioned, he felt the org owed it to the players to not throw in the towel after Boeser’s injury |

Some pretended the team was over achieving. Credit wasn’t given to how dedicated & determined the Canucks were. They had no quit which was very impressive. |

Thanks Carol. The walking of Marky, Tanev and TT on those long term contracts was highly advocated by Vantel. He didn't want Canucks to get locked down with them and preferred the prospects coming in. Looks like that's what's going to unfold.
Unless, JB finds the right timing to push out LE and LTIR Ferland's contracts. Then Canucks could pounce on some RFA upgrades to F/D who can't be kept for cap. |

Sunshine causes skin cancer and roses have thorns. Your points are as thwarted as your dreams of trading LE to cap floor Sens. |

IMO it was an overpayment, but we did okay in the playoff's. As the team stands today I think we take a step back this season and rebound the year after.

Many fans want to see Loui Eriksson sent to the AHL, but don’t count on it happening. In fact, don’t even be surprised if he sees minutes here and there in the #Canucks top-six.
Why? It comes down to real cash and a lack a depth: |
