You cannot reassign an injured player. So if they send Lui to NY and he gets hurt playing they don’t get to put the just <$5m cap hit on LTIR, they’re stuck with it.
The team would be much better off with Gillis running the show. He would make sure Baertschi and Eriksson got hurt during training camp and couldn’t play the whole season.
Just to remind everyone that this is a joke... - 1970vintage
Reassignment has to do with demotion. Show me where it is barred on calling up. It would be a paper move of course.

Yes. So what's the issue? Players without roles waived to be complaint is an easy move. - NuckUp
Ferland is the fly in the ointment. Til his status is resolved it’s moot. Lots of time to decide on the roster make up |

Sure but if they get him on LTIR that cap could be used to go after top D/F to upgrade. They then still would need to waive Sven and LE to be compliant.

A sentence to Utica for a paltry $1M is the leverage needed. Hold up on if there will be a Utica to be sent. |

LTIR Ferland leaves 2m. Better to keep it for a TDL add if a PO push. Sven could very well make the team as a depth F. Run 7 D if too many kids aren’t ready. 14/7 |

That's an empty link just like your answer. Until proven wrong you can't say its barred calling up due to injury. In fact it runs contrary to the spirt of the demotion rule meant to protect the salaries of players. So if a team wants to pay a player more even if injured to add them to their NHL roster can't see how the PA negotiated against this. Believe we found a loophole here that you didn't think of while sitting on your hands. |

Keeping Sven on the roster is more unlikely then LE. His relationship with the club really soured when he elected not to show up for the play-in. He could have slotted in for TT after game 1 injury as a choice over LE. As for now, why take ZacMac's needed role away to keep Sven up?
Waiving Sven and LTIR Ferland is cap they can hold for TDL. However, wouldn't the lower cost and bigger benefit of whole season serve them to use it earlier. |

Only if Ferland is on permanent LTIR cuz if he returns cap space is needed. |

Given the situation you'd think they would keep it permanent at least until the playoffs. Let him make his 5th comeback attempt then. |

Players like Roussel are idiots if they don't think there will be proration on their contracts if games are limited
The 28% haircut was to ensure a 50/50 revenue split if they were playing an abundance of games without and/or limited fans, but still all 80 of them
If he thinks they were still going to get 72% of their salary if the NHL was forced to play a 48 game schedule (probably also with limited fans) he's delusional |

I read New Zealand said no to legalizing or de-criminalizing cannabis.

ya, it's a bummer.
close vote (and miiiight still pass when all the votes counted), but that's what you get when you put it to a referendum.
And surprisingly, polls indicated a referendum wouldn't have passed for legalisation in Canada prior to the laws passing.
Old people are scared of change.
After the fact, people realise the benefits.

The problem is that they weren't signed to fill in contracts. They were signed to core deals. |
