Your poking is premature until there can be leverage and Utica condition But that doesn't alter what the real point was and still is as MTA or form of it, like retirement/consultant agreement, is viable and more probable then a cap dump trade. - NuckUp
Utter nonsense. |

Yes they did have a run in the playoffs, but having your entire team collapse in front of the goalie for 58 minutes a game, and banking your team scores on a flip out Hail Mary pass is an asinine coaching strategy.
But that just my opinion, I’m sure everyone here will tell how wrong I am though. - Makita
Benning is the one who gave him the tools, it's Green's fault if he doesn't know what to do with them.

I thought he outcoached the first two series and got schooled by Deboers, which is when they actually did what you are describing. They didn't actually get outshot or collapse like you are describing against the wild or blues. |

Each of the next 2yrs our cap allows more flexibility. Crucial time for prospects to step up & make an impact. My focus will be on the D being it needs to make the biggest gains. Not worried about the F’s as they continue to score well as each year passes. Mobility on D & speed up front will improve. |

Meh.
I don't think they played that way through the whole 'thingy', just when they were outgunned and outmatched by a deeper team in Vegas.
I think Green adapted and changed strategies for each series vs Minny, St Louis and VGK. - dbot
Yep, hated the way the Vegas series was played but they also got to 7 games playing that way so it's hard to fault them. They had no business making it that far and as Green has shown he generally is able to get his teams to outperform their projections.
There were a number of defensive improvements that the coaching staff implemented, unsurprisingly it meant they sacrificed offense.
I think it's as simple as they had scoring support against St. Louis and against Vegas it was non existent.
9 goals came from non top 6 or QH against the blues, only 1 against the Knights. Is that coaching? I think it's more representative of lack of quality depth and also running out of gas after a very impressive run. |

I think over the next couple of years our forwards will be on an improving trend and I’m similarly hopeful about Demko (backstopped by Holtby) being solid if perhaps not the team’s MVP like Markstrom.
It’s the defence that still concerns me....can’t see them having more than 2 rookies on D next year (OJ, Rafferty?), regardless how condensed the schedule is, which puts wwwaaaaayyyy too much stress on the veterans....Edler, Myers & Benn. A compressed schedule and a penchant for overplaying vets seems like a recipe for injuries. |

The Chicago Blackhawks will read a Land Acknowledgement statement before every home game and other team events moving forward.

We are pretty used to it here in BC and its prominent in NZ with Maori culture but it's a significant and important step towards reconciliation.

Yes about the D but I’m cautiously optimistic. I envision 8 D with platooning.
Schmidt is a vet & will really help exits.
Been high on Rathbone since his draft & don’t be surprised if he gets a chance for more than a cup of coffee. Benn will have to earn more starts. |

Edler, Hughes & Schmidt are the three I have confidence in. Myers might squeeze into that group, but he spent so much time in the penalty box during the playoffs that he seemed too frequently to be a negative contributor. Benn will be “OK” only with limited minutes.
Leaves an lot on some combination of OJ, Sautner, Chatfield, Rafferty & Rathbone to hold the 3rd pairing. Hopeful that at least one of them really steps up, but that is a gamble. |
