Pretty much beer league. I have been told by some beer league guys that they could do better. Once by a cashier at a beer vendor who played in a beer league.
I think if you broke it down for the gents a bit more they could understand where you are coming from.
When you say top 6. Pretty much all of them expect a Petey type player. They just shooting for the moon.
In reality, replacing Pearson you are replacing a typical 5 forward. 2nd best player on your 2nd line.
Not an easy replaceable player still someone that isn't that hard to come by. Basically they are the over hyped second tier of prospects in most systems that people think have the best chance at being top line players.
The Hornqvist, Palat types - manvanfan
Good breakdown. But VHG was being sarcastic trolling from bongwater guzzling. He is with the Podz is a bust/bottom six player crowd. They don't see top 6 potential.
You know, the general consensus is that you either are like Petey or a bust like Virtanen. There ain't no in-between. - manvanfan
I've been saying all along it's not the end of the world if the Canucks get a hard working energy 3rd liner who can contribute on the score sheet while playing a two way game. Canucks sure as hell need that too.

There's a younger guy at my work who always asks me pretty dumb questions. Sometimes I ignore his dumb questions. Other times I give him long answers that drag on for forever and make him listen to them. Once after a 15 minute answer, he claimed that he wasn't even listening even though he stood and stared at me for the entire 15 minutes.
I said I (frank)en know, I just wanted to waste his time for asking such a stupid question. He has never asked me another dumb question.

You did admit that is his floor and Podz has top 6 potential. At least you didn't go full bust bongwater bath salt guzzling.

As long as they don't (frank) up their 3rd round picks or trade them away.

Well best way I guess you could describe Podz right now would be Gaudette just a much better skater and probably a better passer.. They both have lots of heart, a pretty decent hockey IQ. Slow releases and avg at best shots.
He is only 19 though and has time to improve those vs Gaudette who is now 24 and didn't improve on a few of those qualities but has still turned into a young 30 plus point center in his 2nd NHL season.
You think McDonough or Lind have a shot for that role? Be an energy guy to chip in goals taking over from Roussel. - NuckUp
Since Lind was drafted i've had him as a 40- 45 point NHL player. Whether he plays a bit cocky in the NHL like he did in the AHL, I don't know. McDonaugh ceiling is probably a 3rd line role, I can see some potential but I think it's probably 3rd line or bust for him.

That's a reasonable assessment of those 2 for what type of player can be a 3rd liner. Now you wonder if the Podz potential deniers understand the difference.

Re: the world, I was talking about a mass shooting in Kabul Afganistan at the University, in Vienna Austria, at a church in Nice France, the sword wielding freak in Quebec.
Re: Trump, you seem like an intelligent, compassionate, reasonable person (based on my limited interaction in an online message board with you). Which makes it very difficult for me to understand how you could see him in a light that paints him as someone worthy of holding the highest office in the United States. Everything about him is vile. - 1970vintage
Tragedies, all of what you listed. Wack-a-doodles, all were committed by bent broken people. Million % agree. And we could get into case by case, what the "reasons" behind them. Religion, a belief structure, whatever. No excuse matters if its a wack- a - doodle.
Trump.
I started out just trying being edgy. But the push back and vitriol I got, even when I was trying to be funny, kinda changed my mindset. I know I'm not a bad person, but if I get hate for a joke, literal hate, makes me wanna do it more.
But I have learned a lot from independent media , because most legacy media has a slant. Canadian news is the worst, but because the government controls it and the "narrative" .
I love youtube because I don't watch what the media tells me about "peaceful protests", I watch someone at the peaceful protest who's streaming it.
Like I said earlier, I can't change your opinion on someone you think is a scumbag. Heck, I sorta agree. But all politicians are scumbags, he's just upfront about it.
Like most on here, I appreciate what you and your opinion bring. Even when I'm being a jerk, I honestly don't wish harm or real ill will. I don't need to agree. Be pretty boring if if we all blew smoke up each others butt like some weird human centipede.

Yes, poopty use of a 5th overall pick, but he's doing better then Puljarvi in Edmonton so far. He'll be fine, 20g 40 point middle 6 players who are big and fast have value. He's better then Sven, cheaper, faster, bigger, better shot... not his fault he's a high draft pick, would probably still go in the middle of the 1st round in a redraft so not a big deal and not a bust.

What’s weird? It’s different ice, different level of play and they are what 18/19? What’s weird is judging players before they get on NA ice and before much development. That’s weird.
