Yes, poopty use of a 5th overall pick, but he's doing better then Puljarvi in Edmonton so far. He'll be fine, 20g 40 point middle 6 players who are big and fast have value. He's better then Sven, cheaper, faster, bigger, better shot... not his fault he's a high draft pick, would probably still go in the middle of the 1st round in a redraft so not a big deal and not a bust. - Pres.cup

I don't know about you but that like 12 seconds of copy and paste for each of those.
This isn't BC, there isn't a homeless shelter around every corner.
I did, I helped guys like Lefty and Pacific. They have always struggled.
You're welcome. |

Exactly, Virtanen would probably go in that range in a redraft and he's a better player then Sven. |

Good breakdown. But VHG was being sarcastic trolling from bongwater guzzling. He is with the Podz is a bust/bottom six player crowd. They don't see top 6 potential. - NuckUp
Really?
I questioned your fanboyism and prediction Pod slots into the top 6 when Pearson goes, you leg humper. |

I've combed over so many drafts to see where teams went wrong or got it right. Such an impossible task to get the picks even remotely correct. |

DAZN was playing a bunch of Ska games and now it's like once every two weeks and other teams. It's pretty sad for so many of the younger KHL players. You are either Malkin or you struggle for ice time. If Russia had a better development plan, I think they would produce a lot more players. - manvanfan
Because of this players like Pod need to be developed properly when they arrive in NA.
Not thrown into top 6 duty like the slurpers want.

You think McDonough or Lind have a shot for that role? Be an energy guy to chip in goals taking over from Roussel. - NuckUp
I can see Lind as a 3rd line RW if his skating continues to improve. He has the tools & piss & vinegar I like.
McDonough has worked on his skating & another year of NCAA will show if he’s got a shot. 4th line imo with room to move up if he stands out. |

That’s an interesting point. I looked up the stats of registered ice hockey players in Russia vs Canada. I was surprised at the difference considering each nation’s population.
Russia - 112,236
Canada - 621,026
Statistics according to the International Ice Hockey Federation. |

Better suited to be a bull 200’ player for Gaudette til he gets experience. Rather see more focus on 3 good lines & not focus as much on the top 6. Miller/Petey will be great with whoever is the 3rd wheel. If Boeser is with Bo the 2nd line will be more than adequate. That makes JV getting another shot on the 1st.
Miller Petey JV
Pearson Bo Boeser
Hoglander Gaudette Podkolzin
3rd line looks very young & exploitable but comes down to if not a defensive liability. Podk & Hoagie should be ok if insulated properly being a vet rotates in now & then. |

Even the historically worst drafting teams usually get the top picks right, at least six or seven times out of 10, which is where the Canucks probably fall into. If you look at our drafting early we actually drafted some really good players but kept trading them away to try and get better quickly. Building takes time. In Benning we trust!
Look at the 1979 draft, they drafted Rick Vaive, Brent Ashton and Dirk Graham, who had 1906 points between them in the NHL, but, Ashton only played a year and a half with Vancouver and Vaive half a year. It’s piss poor management more times than it’s piss poor players. |

Against VGK their 3rd/4th lines out matched us imo. Lind would help in that regard. Podk as well. |

We drafted Vaive out of the old WHA & latter packaged him with Derlago for Tiger & Jerry Butler. Sounded lopsided but helped us go on the ‘82 cup run.
Ashton was a later on compensation for us signing Hlinka. |

Having more players to me should be more competition and produce greater results.
They have the KHL, VHL, VHL-B, MHL, NMHL leagues.
I think a lot of players like Podkolzin should be regular first line players in the VHL. Rather then sitting on the bench for 57 minutes a game in the KHL. |
