I was looking at the Isles cap hit. They may need to clear more than Ladds' $5.5M AAV contract to fit both Pulock and Barzal in under the cap. They have nearly $9M in space and Barzal will need at least $8M and Pulock at least $6M, that is at the low end....which would be just ridding Ladd's contract to make it. However, it is likely that they may need at least 2M more to sign them.
Would taking on the 3 years or Ladd at $5.5M be worth it for a 1st? I think it is worth a bit more. I would like to see Stevie trade for Ladd + a 1st + (drum roll!) Noah Dobson!!! and that would cost Stevie a 3rd or Cholo!!!! That would be awesome!

Isles will have to LTIR Ladd. I'd love to get Dobson but he's not available. 3 years of broken down Ladd is just too much. 2 years of Boychuk would be a better option but I'd need a 1st rounder stapled to his a$$. Otherwise Lou can have fun navigating through Cap Hell. He'll figure it somehow. He always does.

Robidas Island is always an option...

If I haven’t said it, thank you all. I love this community and you are all a huge blessing. We haven’t had Wings hockey in 8 months and you still keep coming back. Thanks for that.

PS- tell Kooleus we all miss him!

If Ladd is LTIR then they don't need to trade as much away, only a million or 2 contract, right????

It depends on what Barzal and Pulock (awarded) sign for really.

Pulock signed for $5M x 2. Now if Ladd is LTIR, they have $9M AAV for a Barzal deal. Thinking he might sign a 2yr deal at $8.5M yr1, and $9.5 yr2 type deal. This would get him to a year and age where he could get a long term big money deal. If they shed Hickey as well then they could have a bit more for this deal.

If Ladd is not LTIR, I would rather see Stevie deal for Leddy and Hickey than Boychuk, as Leddy is serviceable....but Hickey is looking only like AHL worthy, but his cap hit ican be about half buried.

We got the better end of the Fabbri deal. Still need defense, but what do you do...
- Jeremy Laura

Steve got the better end of both deals in my opinion. Mantha is legit. I like it. Fabbri has massive upside if he finds his game again as well. Heck the top 3 Maple Leafs players almost account for your entire forward roster. Bringing in Bobby Ryan for a low risk deal, and Stall + 2nd from NY. This team has made some solid moves. Happy you guys grinded for a couple tough seasons with bad contracts rather then buying them out and shooting for a wildcard spot. Steve is doing good.

He I'll chuck 100 on the wings with those odds. For all we know Covid could create even more unique circumstances and tun this thing into an absolute free-for-all.

Not gonna lie, I'm real disappointed about Kahun signing for under a million AND only for a year and the Wings didnt seem to try.... at the very least He brings back a 3rd at the deadline if his number stay the same.

25 years old, 11% shooter, .5 ppg AND 95% of his career points are at Even Strength. It's only 2 years, but man that seems like a building block or again at the very least something that gets a decent return at the deadline.

Oh well, Stevie Y knows waaaay more than me! Haha!
