Seguin and Bishop both out 5 months for surgeries and scheduled to return in April.

Seguin: Right hip arthro, and Labral repair. Is that the same as Sharp's injury?

Do they share the same locker? Maybe the floor is uneven right in front of it?

Maybe Krys just needs another year in AHL , it's not a bad thing? Hawks don't have to rush all their prospects.
Strome, I don't see him fitting in, wish we could just trade him, especially if Dach is going to be 2nd line center, don't know the value you get back but if they went with 3 offense lines I'd keep him I guess on one year contract , Nylander ??? I agree with the other posters, I don't know what he does? Goal scorer! power F, set up man?

Nice read Theo!

Not sure if it's the same type of hip injury as Sharp. I tried to look up articles to see if there were more details but the description was generic.

Sharp was going through a really tough time in his life around then with not just the hip surgery but also concussion issues and his father's fight with leukemia.

Krys needs at least one more year of seasoning but may not have a spot open until later than 2021-22. It doesn't hurt a mid-level prospect like him to be over-seasoned.

Strome's fit may be dictated by a number of factors like whether the Hawks will roll 3 offensive lines (i.e. 1, 2a, 2b) or just 2 offensive lines and checking 3rd line and a 4th line.

Another factor is giving Strome complementary linemates who can help their unit defensively and with sheltering his sub-par skating.

He's a playmaker so get him a shooter and a space creator. DeBrincat could be an option but the other winger would have to be stellar defensively to make up a majority of the defensive quotient for their line.

Definitely would not pair Strome and Nylander.

Just bored and pencil-whipping some lines, but Janmark might be a decent fit here. He has shown some offensive ability in the past and is likely one of the better defensive forwards on the team.

Janmark and Wallmark are both good options. Wallmark is great on draws and has a high hockey IQ -- on top of being solid defensively -- so perhaps he shares center duties with Strome unless he bumps Kampf to the wing on the 4th line.

Vegas makes a lot of D-men look tentative. I'm just saying that if he isn't at a minimum even with the other guys, he should be marinating. If the other guys aren't better, I have no issue with him getting NHL experience.
- Chunk

Don't get me wrong, I think Boqvist is a keeper. In that series, though, I didn't think he looked tentative, I thought he looked lost.

Scott Powers from the Athletic reporting that Shalunov has signed a 3-year extension to stay in the KHL.

No surprise. Just cut bait with him already.

Wonder why he never wants to come here - fear of competition? Love of “Mother Russia”? Family?

He and his family probably get nicer homes, new cars, all the spending money and women he wants, doesn't have to move from family and learn a new language.

Could be love for home and/or could be that he may be able to get paid more in the KHL. I could be wrong but he may be on one of the more affluent teams.

It's either SKA St. Petersburg or CSKA Moscow (Shalunov's team) that has a lot of money. Maybe both of them.

Perhaps. They're all short-term veterans being the role players.

Bigfoot has a better chance of playing for the Hawks than Shalunov.

Future 4th line: Bigfoot centering the Ghost of Elvis and Nessie. Killer 3rd line of Santa centering the Easter Bunny and Tooth Fairy.

DeBrincat, largely because Boeser had trouble staying healthy. The poll is currently about 60/40 for Boeser and I would have expected more from the Vancouver market.

Don't the Marks have a bit more offense in their game? They couldn't have any less than Carpenter.

Unless they like one of them beyond this year, I see them being players that could be flipped at the TDL for teams looking to shore up defense.
