Krys needs at least one more year of seasoning but may not have a spot open until later than 2021-22. It doesn't hurt a mid-level prospect like him to be over-seasoned.
Strome's fit may be dictated by a number of factors like whether the Hawks will roll 3 offensive lines (i.e. 1, 2a, 2b) or just 2 offensive lines and checking 3rd line and a 4th line.
Another factor is giving Strome complementary linemates who can help their unit defensively and with sheltering his sub-par skating.
He's a playmaker so get him a shooter and a space creator. DeBrincat could be an option but the other winger would have to be stellar defensively to make up a majority of the defensive quotient for their line.
Definitely would not pair Strome and Nylander. - Theo Fox
So agree with that! Nylander really isn't a fit on team, Not a sniper to be set up by Kane, Not a Saad type to go into corner?
He really is a guy who should have played a few seasons in AHL.

I agree. Nylander needs to find his identity ... play to his strenghts. He really does not have any thing that he can "hang his hat on" |

The more I think about it, I'm wondering if they will try to slot Suter with Toews/Kubalik? Hawks seem like they could use another RW IMO, but maybe they can flip Suter to the right side? Shaw is always an option too, but I was just wondering if they see Suter as a fit for the type of game Toews/Kubalik play?
Kubalik - Toews - Suter/Shaw
DeBrincat - Strome - Kane
Janmark - Dach - Shaw/Suter
Kampf - Wallmark - Carpenter
Nylander - Smith
If Nylander could just get going closer to his potential, it would help on the right side. I think there are a lot of question marks on how they could craft the lineup. Have to think the Hawks have a shot at some good offensive output, depending on what we get from Kubalik, Debrincat, Suter, Dach.... Some solid potential when it comes to output.
All in all, still seems like the biggest issues are on the back end. Really interested to see what Seabrook looks like when the time comes. |

I would venture to guess that Colliton is not going to go back to ADB-Strome-Kane. For one, he is going to put Dach in a better position to produce. Second, that line is a disaster if they can't get the puck.
Edit: I completely agree right now on Nylander. If he can't figure out how to turn it on during the games that count, he isn't of much use. |

You now I have this feeling that Nylander is feeling the organizational footsteps to find a need style to fill a different role or actually merge as a decisive shooter and finisher not just with his handles but his body.
Every time I walk through it, trying to be in his skates, I just feel he can't think he is feeling entitled, or feeling he has earned anything.
His move, if there is one.

Suter with Toews and Kubalik could work. Kubalik played RW most of last season so he can stay there while Suter slots in at LW even if another line.
Nylander needs to play top 6 to get him going or else just cut bait and get assets in return. The Stars are without Seguin until April so perhaps there's a deal to be had there.
Imagine the Stars may be in on Hoffman on a cheap one-year deal.
EDIT: The Jackets are also without Nyquist until April or even May so perhaps ship Nylander to Columbus. |

THEO: I really like your trade idea. If Torts can't put his foot in Nylander's behind to get him going, nobody can. I agree to put him in the top six, so you can make a proper evaluation of him. How about trading Nylander to Columbus for Ryan MacInnis ... son of Al MacInnis. He's a big body, 6 ft 4 200 lbs. Something Hawks have a shortage of at forward. He could create space for skill guy

Pretty much. Nylander will succeed once he accepts what he has to do to keep a job. He has the skill. But he is not likely to be gifted an opportunity anywhere if parts of his game do not change. |

What difference between Ghost and Gus? I ask Philly. I hope I do not have to ask Stan the same question. Would rather another kid than even Ghost for one season. Cheaper and will get quicker development from more dmen prospects if we stay away from adding a dman.
I am curious if Lundqvist can get himself in the best possible mental -physical shape and be better than a fading once top goaltender. Maybe a final hurrah? |

He is big enough to be able to cycle the puck. Keep control with a guy on his back. Time to put his big boy pants on or his career will end before it began. |

LATE ADD He wasn't bad last season. Perhaps he could be very good again ...like it could be his last year and if he wants to go out distinguished with a solid last season. You never know when a playoff goaltender gets hot. Remember Halak for Montreal? |

When the dust settled on opening night rosters who knows if Bergeron is done dealing. Is Drouin still in town? The zmontreal roster could be one of the better teams at least on paper. Remember Carey Price in net and the Price could be Right for the Canadiens to go far with him in net in the playoffs. Farther than Toronto, eh! |

There’s an impact to cap space when you win a cup. It’s Tampa’s turn to get pennies on the dollar with some of their assets, where have I seen that before? |
