Basically they have local branches of public health in each region because each region has different realities. Like there's more herpes in outaouais but more syphilis on the south shore and they all make recommandations to the provincial level to big boss Arruda.

well I was under the impression that all the different regional CSSSs were still related in some way, hence why I was wondering if it was possible they had the same sort of messaging for gyms in Outaouais than in Montreal, and that I just hadn't heard about it. |

They are.
They can usually handle their own stuff without always going through the national level.
But since the beginning of the pandemic, they're supposed to maintain a position that has been pre-agreed upon.
Except when Valérie Plante feels like she could gain from it, just like when they came out and said they'd close the airports when the federal government was taking his time.
So once again, a popular position from Montreal was publicly announced even when the national level never gave them the "ok" to do it.
It's annoying how much influence the political figures have over their own public health directors. |

Controlling the message is important Fred.
The lack of transparency is getting on everyone's nerves though, and rightly so.
And I can 100% confirm that the only reason they went public with this position is that Mrs Plante told them to do it, since it makes her look good.
Don't worry, Gyms are opening in 3 weeks.
