said post had absolutely not a damn single thing to do with russ wilson.
you know better. - TheHank
So who had 4 turnovers against the Bills then on Sunday ? Cedric Wilson ?
I completely understand Turbo’s point.
I’ve also been highly critical of Allen’s play in years past and can also admit that he’s been a top 10 QB in the NFL this year.
I’m sure Seahawks fans are thinking today that they are happy to be 6-2 with that CFL caliber defence they have and can give Wilson the benefit of the doubt.
I’m sure if Allen had the performance Wilson had it would be met with skepticism. That’s what happens when you have yet to win a playoff game and your in year 3 and not a QB with a Super Bowl ring and a Marshawn Lynch one yard run away from having 2 rings.
Is it possible to agree with Sbroads that Allen is a top 10 QB in the NFL but also recognize that because Allen does not have a large sample size of greatness he isn’t afforded the same benefit of doubt ?
Like Jesus Lamar Jackson was the MVP of the entire league last year and how many people would rank him top 5, even a top 10 at this point ?
I think bother posters made valid points

According to @PFF, the Seahawks were in cover 0 for 11.8% of their snaps & cover 1 for 33.8% of their snaps vs BUF. That’s WAY too much man coverage for that secondary.
That’s nearly 46% of the defensive snaps in man coverage.

That’s not the point though
The point is you can’t simultaneously give the benefit of the doubt to guys because they’ve done it over “years” while then nitpicking “5 or 6 out of 9 games”.
If you need to do it for years to be judged either way, then what Allen did against Seattle and KC are both meaningless. Nothing he does against AZ will mean anything, because it’s years away from determining if he’s actually elite or not.

The one thing people who are Allen detractors or who won’t give him his due is he has steadily developed every single year. In fact if you look at his improvements every quarter of his last two seasons he has developed and improved.
Now I would be lying if I said I expected the stats he is putting up but I did expect at least a top 15 QB.
He is top 10 easily and close to, if not top 5 this season.
He has done the work every off season. I don’t see him reverting back, he might not be able to keep up this pace but he is a franchise QB. |

The logic you are trying to apply is circular and makes absolutely 0 sense.
You keep saying his counterparts have been elite for multiple seasons or year over year great, so that’s why they are elite, correct?
Yet you keep pointing out “5 or 6 games out of 9” as if those 3 games he wasn’t great matter.
In reality, if your point is he needs to be elite for multiple seasons, to be considered in that category, and have his bad games not matter, then even if he was excellent 9 out of the 9 games, that shouldn’t change your stance.
So you should probably do one of two things
Take your big, fat, giant L like a man.
Or
Stop posting after every game about his few bad ones, and simply say nothing he does this season matters, at all, because in order to be judged, he needs to have multiple seasons of either good, bad, or elite play.
But since I know you won’t do the latter.....eat the L - sbroads24
Half a season isn’t long enough to be considered elite
Neither is 12th out of 32

We do.
It would be one thing to say, credit Daboll with Allen’s success, or flat out say it’s an aberration and he’s not that good and will get worse.
But he seems to want to make the same lazy take each week with no substance, not really say anything either way, while trying to make sure we’re not getting too excited over Allen every single Sunday/Monday since week 1. - sbroads24
YOU brought up Allen to me
I didn’t say anything about him this week till you moved the goalposts in that direction
I know facts aren’t your strong suit,
but don’t say I’m bringing up Allen when it’s YOU |

How can you not understand how severely flawed your point is?
Year 1 - below average passing, above average running
Year 2- average passing, elite running
Year 3- elite passing, elite running when he needs to. Top 3 in passing yards, total TD’s, top 10 in everything else.
His development has been linear. He’s elite now.

It sincerely does not matter, at all.
His numbers say he’s elite. He’s elite.
This isn’t Drew Stafford scoring 30 goals in a contract year
This is a top 10 pick who’s steadily developed every game since he’s been drafted
Go back and tell me what his last 16 game numbers are. You know what, I will
Last 16 games for Allen
4,032 passing yards
29 passing TD’s
10 rushing TD’s
8 picks
4000 yards and almost 40 TD’s

What bothers you the most about Allen? and do you feel like a non throwing arm injury could have affected a couple of the games 5-8? |

I never said that anyone had to
Putting words in my mouth doesn’t increase the
ONLY 6 games Allen has thrown for 300yds
U can move the goalposts all you want,
but IMO, Allen has to be very good for a longer duration of time to be considered “elite”
And 12th out of 32 isn’t “elite” either
Saying that is laughable |

He’s not obviously, since he hasn’t played a full season as an elite player.
So Eichel could possibly be elite if he’s elite in 2022 and 2023. (2021 will be a short season so, you know, sample size) |
