This is my main question about this vaccine. Is it an actual vaccine, or like the flu shot which really isn't a vaccine at all, in that it doesn't really prevent the flu, it just helps mitigate the symptoms even if you do get it.

And if that's the case, widespread distribution will be well after the actual vaccine is available. There's also a question as to who will be required to take it, and who will be prioritized. If the goal is mass vaccination with almost zero exemptions, that's going to take a while, especially when you consider the number of people needing to take the vaccination will be much greater than the number of people actually taking COVID tests, including the antibodies.

and if the 2nd vaccine is one of those umbrella companies that are working on it right now under the current president, it will only be ok if approved by the FDA under the next presidents watch at a later date in time?

I've been skeptical of the claims of many pharmaceutical companies for a long time, regardless of who the president is (and I currently work for one, albeit much, much much smaller). Pfizer, and the others racing to get one in, are all global companies. It's not just about here in the US or even North America. They're racing to get this out throughout the world. So, no, I don't think the current administration matters as much as people want it to. How that vaccine is distributed here in the US is another story.

I'm not dividing the Country as both you and 19 are on the same political side.
My cousin met with 19 for a beer, respects him and doesn't want any further negative BS back and forth. Just a question for someone i respect, but have a differing opinion, I'm trying to understand. Asking someone who is able to communicate with out insults back and forth.
