Cuomo and his department of health mandated nursing homes take in patients with Covid...it killed 10,000 right off the bat.
That’s the real failure.
I have no problem if he wants to limit restaurants and gyms, and closing times until this blows over. In fact that’s probably a smart thing to start with.
However saying there is a limit to family gatherings is a joke and ridiculous and abuse of power. - Stripes77
There’s no way to enforce this. It’s just an empty threat in the hopes that some people will be responsible. Spoiler alert- They won’t be.

Cuomo was following guidelines of the Trump administrations CDC. Trumps fault. And I believe it was just over 6000, not 10,000, by the way.

Right. It's a recommendation, one that I'm guessing not a lot of families will listen to, which is a shame. We're staying home for Thanksgiving, first time in 33 years. Guess I need to learn how to bake a turkey ...

Then why did he rescind the order in May?
And why was New York State that got hammered right off the bat in nursing homes but not Florida?
was walking in the woods today and jimi hendirx came up in my shuffle...ended up thinking about the artists i've listened to who've covered him, especially blues players, and in many instances they did a stand up job, which included some exceptional passages, but it just didn't totally get there for me...
tonight i came across this, which i'd watched a couple time some years ago, but had forgotten about:
Someone (fattony ?) on here said the other day that Cuomo was doing a horrible job of handling the pandemic. Anybody know NYS's positivity rate earlier in the year ? I'm guessing it was highest in the nation.
Yeah, he's doing a horrible job
- kritter65
I did. And he did do a horrible job. Sent elderly to their deaths. Has the most restrictive economy when other states have been open for 4 months. Positive rate is going up, but there is also more testing everywhere.
Cuomo was a disaster then touted a book on how great he was. What arrogance.

Cuomo made his own rules up. Then tried to hide his screw up.
NYC was always going to be a problem with COVID initially because of all the people flying into JFK and LaGuardia from all around the world especially Europe which the Federal Gov never reduced even though it was hitting there in a big way. Small-minded Trump focused only on China to play to his base and well, we won't go there.
Anyway, NYC is a hub of world travel so you know is the point.

It is a hub for International travel, however not the only airport with significant international air traffic ...LA, Atl, Miami, SF, Chi, Hou, Dal all have significant international travelers
Cuomo, DeBlasio look very foolish with their initial stance.
If Trump says it, mock it and do the opposite. No denying it.
There are a lot of people who are going to have to be debrainwashed or this country is up a crick. When you blindly follow the lies of a game show host, you have trouble.
The two party system with real Republicans had its flaws mainly for the lower class and marginalized groups but it wasn't a heap of crap and it had potential. The George Wallace Special Needs Party will bring this country down.

Honest questions, for anyone who might know. Does the gov of NY have the authority to close an airport located in his state? Was Cuomo calling Trump and asking him to shut it down? He didn’t say anything publicly, at least that I recall, about Hey, we gotta do something about all these international arrivals into JFK from Covid Europe. Biden and Pelosi were otherwise occupied giving trump poop about closing China travel down, “He’s a xenophobe!” They’re all full of poop, on both sides

It seems “brainwashed” is in the eye of the beholder. Both sides point their finger at the other and consider them brainwashed fools.

I remember when Mitt Romney made a controversial statement about 47% of Americans and it was a huge deal. I also remember when Obama wore a tan suit and had a coffee in his hand when saluting, huge deal.
Those would be the 35th/36th most scandalous things Trump has done since 3pm.
The new donation page for funding voter fraud has fine print that states the funds could be used to pay his legal fees and debts. One last con

Funny.
You do know that 48% of the country feels the same way about the Democratic Party right.
They propped up a deadman-walking as their candidate, then bought the minority vote with Harris who mustered 3% support from her party voters in the Primaries.
I'd say you have an argument, but 71% of Biden voters voted against Trump, not for Biden and Harris.
Good God, both parties are an absolute disaster.

Heard about the fund drive. Didn't know about the fine print.

The problem is there is tons of video evidence all over the internet of voter fraud.
It’s a very real problem. - Sabretooth9
Looking around youtube at usps video, (not all are election related). LoL, who knew there were so many Newmans working for the post office. (frank)ers just throwing the mail in dumpsters and calling it a day.

I go by the stats and reality not feelings.
JFK 16.88 million international people flew into that AP in 2019 leading the way
LA was next with a big Drop at 12. 72
Miami 10.67
San Fran 7.45
NEWARK in the NY area as well 7. 12
That is a lot of international people in the NY area and the people flying into the other airports often transfer to NY so as I said NYC was always going to be hit hard by COVID initially especially when the president was hiding the facts and seriousness of it.
