As it currently stands, how does this happen? Injuries?

Assuming LTIR for Ferland then fill with ELC’s.

You know what he’s doing right? Trying to show that he can represent all those faithful “christians” that thought the other guy represented their values. It’s a smart move because obviously they are easily fooled.

Only if one of them beats out Benn. I doubt it. But by the time NHL starts up again everyone's more older then usual gaps. What its like almost a year for the prospects. So who knows. Things are not the norm.

As dbot posted earlier:

Edler-Schmidt
Hughes-Myers
OJ-Benn
Raff.

I can see OJ because it’s time a 2016 5th overall plays regular minutes, but another ELC will be tough over Benn.

I’m hoping OJ & Rathbone & Rafferty can show well. I’ve no problems if 2-3 make it.
- Nighthawk

I am hoping OJ, Brisebois and Chatfield show well. I don't think Rafferty is an NHL capable defender, Rathbone was a player I was hoping for back in that draft, but I am not willing to gift players spots.

Prospects haven't been competing for NHL jobs since September 2019. The next camp will be 2021?

I’m suspicious of OJ let alone the rest of the prospect D. I think there is one spot open and they will force OJ into it.

Oh yes, totally agree. But IMO it’s about contracts and JB and TG not sitting those contracts in the press box.

I agree that's more likely. But those prospects will be more mature and might unseat a Benn at camp for a starter job. If that's the case, Green could mix it up like:

QH Myers
OJ Schmidt
Edler Rafferty/Chatfield

You mean injury prone? I always thought Salo played really well when he was on the ice. If OJ matched Salo’s skill level I’d be very happy. Obviously not as happy if he’s afflicted with the same injury bug.

Agreed.

Although I expect another r.ookie as they will carry 7 defensemen

It’s going to be hard listening to him try and make peace with 70 million nincompoops.

Benn could be depth or waived if they can force out cap to add a Cernak type . Like you said before LE gone would do it. Then there is Ferland. We just won't know much until there is a season and leverage in place.

I'd say if he started with a Biden free beer day he'd be more than halfway there.

I knew we'd regret that contract. How would that cap space look now?
