Yeah, I have been there. Nice place. Long ago though. There is a poster on Ek's thread who posts sometimes about Nashville. Forget his name. - PT21
Cheer up! Scientists are in charge of Covid,
Trump will be indicted,
And Jared & Ivanka no longer advise anyone important.
Oh! And the reptiles, including, but not limited to: Mnuchin, DeVos, & Carson no longer have cabinet positions!
It's a new day! Plus we have the current admin in their death-throes.
It's a good Monday. |

That's not all he was saying though. Maybe he meant to, but he brought up a team that put most of its eggs in one basket and failed.
Would you tell some team with a dominant first line: gee, this looks like we could really be like the Flyers teams of the 90s with their LOD line? - PT21
I wrote it, it’s exactly what I meant. What kind of bizarro world do you live in? |

Don't take it out on me that you are a numbskull.
Here is the post, for your leisurely perusal:
The gentleman in question expressed unholy geriatric delight at the prospect of the Flyers ending up with a "Nashville type unit"
There is nothing wrong whatsoever in the context that this is an inelegant comparison because this great "Nashville type unit" was part of a team that never won anything. - PT21
UNIT!!!
Not the entire team, just one part of it; their best part. Yes, I would like the Flyers defense to be similar. I also want their offense to be like the 1980's Oilers, but that is nowhere near as attainable as having a great, homegrown defense.
You need to stop looking at the forest, and enjoy the trees right in front of you.

There is no getting it with this guy, PT21 most likely resembles the grown man the children of South Park were playing against in Minecraft, if someone can insert that GIF/image please. Some guy holed up in his basement drinking Mountain Dew to no end just ready to argue against any other soul with a keyboard. |

And the Pfizer vaccine shows a 90% efficacy rate.
I would kill to go and watch a Birds game with the crowd packed and yelling all around me in this weather.
I am in a delightful mood. Why would you think otherwise?

In other words, you still don;t get it.
Let me give you, if you will forgive the phrase, a killer analogy.
Would you use the following comparison?:
"Gee, he looks like a great Presidential Candidate. Reminds me of Bobby Kennedy."

I have not seen a minute of South Park in my life. I don't drink mountain dew. My house doesn't have a basement (the house is a duplex, with the first floor below grade, meaning it would have been the basement).
You are confusing me with MJL and his recent but already legendary comment about his basement. |

It's clearly you that does not get it.
It's a shame that all of that elite education comes with the petulance of a four year old, and the analogy "skills" of an even younger child.
By your latest inept analogy, are you saying someone is going to murder our defense? Or is this some kind of nepotism message? An anti-foreigner moral?
Your turn to show how high your pedestal is by retorting with personal insults... |

Holy cow.
Let me break it down for you.
1. Nashville had a great homegrown defense. That's a good start to the ultimate goal of winning the cup.
1. Bobbie K was in the midst of a tremendous primary, where he was a star. That's a good start to winning the Presidency.
2. In spite of the great start, Nashville never got the cup.
2. In spite of the great start, Bobbie died with his brains splattered across a carpet.
3. Don't bring up the great start of a team that never delivered, because the comparison reminds us of not just the start but the lack of finish.
3. Don't bring up the great start of Presidential candidate by invoking the name of a guy who was shot dead, because we cannot think of that great start without being reminded of the ending trauma. |

PT, you're wrong on this one. Probably why you're engaging in so many arguments and making ad hominem attacks on your fellow posters. Reading CF's original post, he was not making any inference about anything other than having a stellar backend on a team. He did not say that doing so would result in a cup. YOU are the one that drew that inference. And now you've been going on and on trying to drag others into debate by muddying the waters. Just take the L and move on, bro. Stop being so insecure that you must always prove you are right. It's obvious to everyone except you.
Have a nice day! |

Its possible, but this boring dude is enjoying himself thoroughly and seems to have captured the attention of everybody in spite of that trait.
I know what we can do.
Tell us one more time why Ghost is such a better player than Hagg while posting advanced stats and ignoring startling differences in +/- stats.
That should be utterly captivating.
