The pasta reference to Pastrnak is a good one...I'll give you that. We could probably use a bit more levity like that. - Sublime55
Even more? Sorry, I am exhausted.
I bet this wcorvette is a hoot in a stand-up audience.
Sorry I can't laugh right now.
I will laugh later, quietly and silently, to myself after my night-time prayers and mail the video to you.
Like a check mailed laughter. |

The pigeon just knocks all the pieces over.
Then poops all over the board.

Hey that’s like arguing with mjl. Still waiting for his response to my posted article proving he’s wrong as usual |
|
|
|
If you think this is the lowest, just wait till MJL comes here.
He will respond to every post, while gratuitously bringing up my academic credentials which he has stated on multiple occasions he does not care about.
- PT21
Hahahaha great minds think alike. He won’t respond to proof tho. Only rhetoric that he believes supports whatever his narrative is. Per usual |

Nashville is a poor example. They put forward a bottom heavy team, with a very good goalie, in a defensive system.
Amd failed to win with multiple tries.
Choosing only the good part of Nashvilke and ignoring the bad part suggests they are independent. Why did Nashville not develop their forward corps? If you look at the answer to that question, I bet you will find it correlated with the development of their defensive depth. - PT21
No one said copy exactly what they did. They said we could very well be looking at one of the best d cores similar to how Nashville excelled at this for years. Looking at the defense I can see the correlation. Everything else. No. That logic is terrible. |

I keep offering that argument, but you are not taking the time to understand it, because you are convinced I am saying something I am not.
There are 2 things here:
1. Is it good to have a young homegrown capable defense? Of course it is. Who can argue with that?
2. Is it good to compare it with a team that never won anything? The latter comparison is not good. Because whenever you use a team comparison from the past, all aspects of it come to mind. The good and the bad. And a natural reaction would be the one I brought up.
And the logical fallacy you mention is just irrelevant here. - PT21
Number two is where you’re wrong. Wasn’t applied to the team. Was applied to their d core. |

Don't take it out on me that you are a numbskull.
Here is the post, for your leisurely perusal:
The gentleman in question expressed unholy geriatric delight at the prospect of the Flyers ending up with a "Nashville type unit"
There is nothing wrong whatsoever in the context that this is an inelegant comparison because this great "Nashville type unit" was part of a team that never won anything. - PT21
So what if you say he’s a running back like Barry sanders. Would
you pass bc he never won? |

PT, you're wrong on this one. Probably why you're engaging in so many arguments and making ad hominem attacks on your fellow posters. Reading CF's original post, he was not making any inference about anything other than having a stellar backend on a team. He did not say that doing so would result in a cup. YOU are the one that drew that inference. And now you've been going on and on trying to drag others into debate by muddying the waters. Just take the L and move on, bro. Stop being so insecure that you must always prove you are right. It's obvious to everyone except you.
Have a nice day! - Letterkenney
Catching up. Yes. And unit refers to d unit. But let’s lecture everyone on logic |

I think Myers will develop even further but I think the right number is less then what others are saying....I thought a two year 3.6 total or 1.8 AAV. We should see soon.....my comparison was Hayden Fluery’s recent signing.
Edit: Fluery was signed 2 years....1.3 AAV. |

2 yrs at 2.5-3 or 3 at3-3.5. Only way I see less than two mil is only for one season.
What I would prefer. 2 at 2.25. Maybe fair for both. |

No. You named an individual and left out his team. That's the opposite of what Claudedaddie did.
You cannot bring up one part of something without bringing along the context of the larger whole the part belongs to. If you do, someone who brings up that context is logically justified.
Try these more accurate analogies.
1. Gee: I hope the Eagles run game now looks just as good as the Lions teams of the 90s with Sanders as their lead back.
2. Gee: Peter Richards was a tremendous sailor. He was the first mate of the Titanic.
In response, if someone says: what fat lot of good did that membership do, they would be justified, wouldn't they?

Wow! Six pages of comments and counting about the Flyers homegrown defense core during this slow-news hockey “offseason”...Good job! Way to support flyerbuzz.

It would be but we’re pretty sure P21 is Bill and MJL is Bill. This of course doesn’t mean you are not Bill. Either way comments are suspect |

Sorry, I don't engage in spin. I am just dismissive of lazy arguments.
The ultimate objective is to win. Those Nashville teams won nothing with great defensive depth. There is nothing to admire about them. There is nothing to emulate.
Period. - PT21

So he needed to name a d man for there to be acknowledgement he was referring to d.
Poor example with the first mate. Seriously go back and look at that one. The first mate is not the engineer or the captain. He was a tremendous sailor. lol

In the days when I used to go to bars like that to drink and talk loudly, I saw my share of brawls, some up close and personal.
No one was throwing me anywhere, my man. I am not a small guy.
And I will leave it at that. I recommend you do as well, buddy.
