No it doesn’t. Hence separating the part you are discussing. Otherwise it’s a different conversation. Here’s an example.

The flyers young d core reminds of Nashville a few years back. Showcasing the part.

Someone responds. Well they didn’t win a cup. Has nothing to do with the drafting and development of a great d group.

And no his name wasn’t Peter Richards. But the first mate of the titanic was on the bridge and in charge when it hit the iceberg. He was known as a great sailor and a hero in his country as well if you want to look at the context as a whole. Again. Poor example on your behalf.

- Peter Richards

You are fixated on taking the Titanic example far too literally. I am sorry I ever brought that up.

How about the earlier example:

"I hope our young forward corps goes on to become just as good as the Leafs forwards of the past 2 years."

The Leafs team has a great bunch of forwards in the top 2 lines that ultimately failed to score enough to win (by definition). That home grown stable of terrific young D Nashville had also failed to keep out enough goals for their teams to win (again by definition).

I hope you understand not what he meant, which we all do, but what I meant with my initial objection before this maddening carousel of fun started. Whatever your interpretation of showcasing, he mentioned the team, and the fortunes of that team come with the mention.

If you don't, I humbly seek your esteemed absolution while I rest my case because at this stage, it is only repetition.

Bonne nuit!

Will accept drinks from any and all of you people. Let’s aim a touch higher than a beer though can’t we?
- stayinthefnnet

Meaning what? We take turns to throw each other out of the window?

That depends on how much you weigh.

EDIT: drop me a pm in a few months, when Covid is hopefully no longer an issue.

However large the group, first round's on me.

Ok, really, good night all.

Its quite amusing.

PT is obviously a troll, that whole "personality" is a fake. The masses fall for it.

More amusing, the goof that has been just as guilty of making this board the poophole it became - is so disturbed by it.

Site that allowed the inmates to run the asylum with a free ride, now can't afford to put the hammer down because the visitors have declined so much already.

Honestly, kind of sad.

- FlyerFan3260

Please, dear sir, tell me more.

Who are these masses? Whenceforth do they come? Wherefore do they go? Whereat do they reside?

And who said I am disturbed, (frank)wit?

Have not seen her in the last 25 years, but was just straight up beautiful in the movies she was in

Don't think that changed at all, but Kevin Kline is a fortunate man.

I really appreciate actors that move on. Not sure whyBut it was probably a personal choice..

Take a good look at this thread and ask yourself why wouldn’t someone rip on this site? In regards to Bill, I don’t think he’s the same guy he used to be. I don’t question his knowledge, but I do question his objectivity now that he’s on the Flyers payroll.

Sorry, I don't engage in spin. I am just dismissive of lazy arguments.

The ultimate objective is to win. Those Nashville teams won nothing with great defensive depth. There is nothing to admire about them. There is nothing to emulate.

Period.

- PT21

Your whole schtick is spin. The Flyers have been terrible for a long time at developing dmen.
At one point Chris Therien was heralded as a success.
Now with basically 6/7 dmen all home grown that’s a major change. Why can’t you acknowledge that Nashville as a franchise have been very good at drafting and developing dmen?
Well I know the answer already so don’t bother. It’s not flattering for you btw.

A #1? No, but I think he’s a quality top 4 guy when he’s healthy. But, don’t worry, I have no desire to hang around this cesspool.

That was my point. While not terrible he also shouldn’t be the crowning achievement of drafting and developing defensemen.

Again, the academic and scholar fails to realize basic principles of the game of hockey. As if the defenseman on the team, are the only players responsible for keeping out enough goals for their teams to win. By definition LOL. The forwards and goaltenders are just as responsible in the game of hockey for the defensive side of the game! Same way that a team can have a great stable of offensive forwards but team elements, not just one facet of team decide whether a team wins or doesn't ultimately win. This is simple logic. Your initial objection was simply asinine and completely out of context.

Yet he is. The Flyers ability in the past of drafting and developing defenseman was honestly pathetic. Now granted, a lot had to do with not making enough picks as they traded many away. Once the cap came into play, it cost the Flyers in having to overpay for defenseman. Now as it has evolved even further, quality defenseman are harder to get in free agency and in trades. Look at the Rangers in having to pay Trouba 8M a year!

I may. I played professionally in DC for awhile, and coached the school clubs for years. I love coming across bright up and comers. I still play in DuPont, as well as in the parks in Philly and NY when I visit.
What’s your FIDE?
I have 2 chess.com IDs. The one I use to teach a student I’ve retained during my new job, and the one I use seriously which I keep anon.

Although I prefer a 10/0 game over straight blitz.
