For sure ...but it'll be shorter and small then Lindor's. And most importantly for me it won't cost a pile of good young players. - The Law
Look at what Boston got for Betts, the former MVP.
Will it cost something to get him? Yeah, for sure. But it won't/shouldn't be crushing to the teams future.
And if that's the case, then the Jays would be foolish to not pursue it. |

i had a couple bottoms of bottles kicking around
the other night i used the bottoms of an okanagan rosé to make a kung pow chicken dinner, last night was white wine for the shrimp, tonight it's a flat beer at the bottom of a pan with sausages and saurkraut, last week the bottoms of an old bottle of red for bracioles in tomato sauce
haven't figured out what to do with the couple of ounces of gin or bourbon that I have kicking around |

If I had to guess, Cleveland would probably ask for Martin, Pearson and Teoscar |

Big difference on that trade - the Dodgers had to take Price and his massive poopball contract. The B's were dying to get that off the books so they could avoid the luxury tax. |

And they'd be high outta their minds. The only one of those guys they might get would be Teoscar.
Seriously, look at the Betts trade. It's a joke for what an MVP should get.
Cleveland will get a good return but it absolutely won't be the homerun people think it will be. |

It's not the same situation though.. Cleveland is not as desperate as Boston was, and they can afford to wait it out. Boston needed to make that move quickly |

Apropos of a recent exchange, I bought a utility grade frozen duck. I think I'm gonna do a really long day of cycling on the weekend and then guzzle liquid duck fat from the roasting pan. |

"Take Price". He's still a good pitcher and the Red Sox paid half of the $96 million left on Price's deal.
Such a great deal for the Red Sox. |

I use duck fat instead of butter a lot of the time, especially good if you're making toast. I just buy it at the store in the meat aisle
I have this flattop pan that came with my gas range, I grab a long vienna loaf, cut slices about 2 inches thick on a bias, spread duck fat on both sides like butter, toast on the flattop on high until the outside is crispy, but inside is still gooey soft like texas toast. Great for stews and anything saucy
Can do it on high on the BBQ as well if you want those grill lines
Also, I've never roasted a duck, need the info thx |

But if Lindor is gonna leave anyways, they're gonna want something for him.
No chance whatsoever they get a homerun trade. Unless some team gets stupidly desperate, which in the Covid world, I highly doubt. |

Oh it wasn't good but at the time Price was 34 and trending down. He had injury concerns and only thrown ~100 innings in 2 of the last 3 years. He had elbow problems and missed the last part of 19' with a chronically bad wrist.
Him sitting out 20' was probably a huge win for the Dodgers.
Boston shopped the hell out of him. That deal is well detailed and adding Price, even at 50%, lowered the value B's received. It's recorded history now.
Anyway we're debating semantics. If the Jays ownership is ready to lock into Lindor for the big deal he's going to get then I'm all in. But if not I'm not down with taking 2 or 3 great prospects/young players for one year.
