There were strong rumours but I don't believe anything was confirmed. I had read at one point it would more than likely be until after no time to die before anything was announced officially... So even more surprised to hear about the female 007.

I'm leaning towards the she's a 007 but not THE 007 theory. Elba has got to be the next Bond after this one... He's just to perfect for the role. Tom Hardy gets the bulk of whatever 2nd place votes I have.

Come to think of it, I feel like the initial part of no time to die is to be based around the idea that Bond was retired in Jamaica. Therefore replacement 007 required for at least part of the movie.🤷‍♂️

Since they’ve all become pretty much the same movie, have Tom Cruise play all the James Mission Bond movies until he dies but have Taiki Waititi direct them all.

If you do it right the story can dovetail in with the overall series. Like how the Bourne Legacy did . . .although that was probably the worst one, the idea remains the same.

But this isn't some sci-fi thing like Doctor Who - I think you want to have some form of continuity where you can.
