Oh lets look at another way. Lets say these guys are available. How much would you be willing to pay for them:

Ryan Ellis (Blues are doing bad without Alex, Tarasenko continues decline etc.)
Risto (never have I seen a guy come up more in trade rumors)
Justin Schulze (Caps going nowhere)
Brent SeaBrook (languishing recently, injury prone but should be good for another go)
Subban (huge salary, declining play)

- PT21

Wow, where do I start. Ryan Ellis plays for Nashville, not St. Louis. He was just signed to a long term deal recently in Nashville and he's going nowhere. He's not going to be traded at the trade deadline.

I think you're desperately in need of a tutorial on things like the Salary cap, tagging space and contract status. You repeatedly list players as potential acquisitions that aren't players who are likely to be traded at around the trade deadline.

I realize it's a hypothetical but if they had 2M of cap space, which is a ton of cap space to have come trade deadline time, it would allow you to add a hefty cap hit at that point in time. It's pretty much impossible to speculate and answer those questions with the variables that are involved.
- MJL

Exactly. Who are the teams that are desperate to unload near the trade deadline? It can be anyone, just as much as guessing that the Flyers would be on or just above the playoff bubble at that time.

Frost is a player that has real potential to be the teams top offensive point producer in 2-3 seasons. Trading him would likely be a big mistake.
- MJL

Read the question.

You are saying, if the Flyers are knocking on the door of a#1 seed (in a normal year) you would not consider trading a non-roster player for a piece that might make you prohibitively better?

I said it would not be a rental too, like the Jimmy Butler f***ing disaster for the Sixers.

LOL, I don't need to read the question again. No, I would not trade Frost in that scenario.

Actually you need to go back and re-read the hypothetical that you replied to. Frost was on the 3rd line.

Even better! A 3rd line player. That was my mistake though.

I would say balls in your court, but you are such a debbie-downer in every way.

You ruin this page for a lot of people. Everything is about yourself. You are narcissistic, un-funny, and a cross for people to bear. I pity your family, or those who feel compelled to feign love towards you.

November 10th, not a good day in history... Also, the date of the sinking of the Edmund Fitzgerald.

Hey, I apologize for being narcissistic, un-funny and a cross for people to bear in stating that I would not trade Frost in that scenario. You'll be happy to know that based on that decision, my family has decided to disown me and stop loving me.

Provide educated guesses, or assume any scenario you like.

Its either that, or discuss morbid maudlin reminiscences of Pelle's death.

Harhar, please continue your crusade in real-life.

Since the tragic death of Pelle Lindbergh was the subject of today in Flyers history in the blog, discussing it is entirely appropriate.

Agreed I think he’d have a real chance.

Yeah I could see on the 4 th line and pk duties. A few vets getting older for USA and a few kids like boeser will take a spot.

I’m in the move ghost boat. But I get the cap issues all are in and think we are in a good place for the expansion draft. Would not trade for another player if it messes up the balance. I think ideally you wouldn’t want a roster player for ghost or salary retained which is why it’ll be hard to move him now. Plus the down year harder sell. If he does bounce back, he will be gone at the exp draft.

Most on the team I don’t want to trade but depends on the return. The ones I’d be more inclined to part with are harder to find trade partners for

There may be some interest in "Risto"; though you likely have to give up picks, prospects and salary to make it work.

1st, good prospect (no idea who), raffle and Gus to make the cap work. Something along those lines I would imagine.

So, I was trying to add some edge to the usual discussions by envisioning a dream scenario where all our forward issues have been resolved in our favor, and the team is clicking on all cylinders and has a need for #2 RHD and pretty much that alone.

The year after that, if Laughton does well again, if Patrick does well, and with the draft, we likely cannot retain the same team. Thus, do we go for it this year and if so, what would be willing to give up for some names on the market.

I just chose some RHD I could think of of the top of my head that would likely be available.

Think about why some players would or would not be available. Learn and understand the salary cap. Think about what a legitimate #2 RHD defenseman actually costs.

When you read this group, do you have your browser set to the usual viewing settings? I drag it to a narrow column, and enlarge the font, so that I see the poster icons first.

Then, with MJL and a couple of others, I don't scroll right. I just scroll down. I recommend you do that as well. Very easy.

Here is a snapshot.

LMAO. I'm laughing hysterically. This is honestly, very funny. That you would actually let someone alter the way you view a webpage. One of more funnier and sad things I've ever seen posted on here. I'm embarrassed for you.

Some of you are so fragile and soft I’m surprised you can lead any semblance of a normal life.
How people can let posts or individuals on a Internet forum upset them so much I don’t understand.
Some people stopped engaging because they don’t like someone else’s style etc.
For those of you who think they are so much smarter than the rest of us you might want to have some humility.
I know some very brilliant people that can’t do basic problem solving skills that involve repairing any number of things.
I also know people that many would say are just plain dumb rip apart a truck engine and rebuild it without ever having any training.
If you don’t like a poster then by all means don’t interact.
Posting how you go out of your way to avoid someone then posting proudly how you do it just seems childish to me.

Stop caterwauling, for crying out loud.

Numerous posters have bemoaned the absence of an ignore option. This is a crude but effective ignore button. It takes minimal effort, and the primary target of it has more than earned this treatment. It doesn't mean I hate anyone, or hold them in contempt or consider them stupid. It means it is unproductive at multiple levels for me to read some posters.

The rest of the stuff you wrote has nothing to do with anything. If you don't like it, dont do it. If you do, by all means follow.
