I could see Seattle being quite rich on 4/5 defensemen. They will be players in the trade market shortly after the draft. - Reubenkincade
Wouldn't it be better Canucks can grab one, who's a RSD, for cheaper by the TDL, then take Kraken prices?

If Juolevi pays well and if they acquire another quality defender like Cernak and if Jake, Gaudette and Lind have nice seasons, all they have to do is offer Seattle a PTL...Please Take Loui and Canucks give up Rafferty and Rathbone or Brisebois. - Reubenkincade
True PTL is an option. Though isn't that what made VGK so good to start. Guess it comes down to cost. |

I don't think you understood the D part of the protective equation. Its not about the forward list either on what you and Golfer spoke about. OJ shows well they will want to protect him. Plus if they add another good D, like Cernak, then that will do it too. That would rule over protecting Gaudette, JV and Lind. - NuckUp
Love me some condescending in the evening.

Myers will be on the back end of his career, big time by the time he suits up. Anybody take him for the last three of his contact over OJ or Woo?
Not a chance in hell, if we pickup another D, odds are it's too push Myers down the roster, I'd love if he got picked even if I like him as a player. |

You're right. Thanks for clearing that up for me. Plus you made me do research on it to see the latest lol:

So it stands, add another quality D, like a Cernak, and they may go with the 4 and 4 format to include OJ and Myers. - NuckUp
They will not go 4 and 4 just to protect Myers, sorry that's a big no. |

Not sure if people realize this,
Defenseman that are in organization that could potentially be selected by Seattle
Schmidt, Myers, Juolevi, Chatfield, Brisebois, Sautner. Briebois and Sautner would need to be extended for 1 year and Chatfield is needing a new contract now.
Edler and Benn are both UFAs and can be talked to by Seattle, beforehand. If they sign one of them, that is considered their selection.
Not quite sure but I believe Tryamkin is also eligible to be selected.
Hughes and Rathbone are exempt as are any players who haven't played any pro hockey in North America ie, Woo.
Where the Canucks have a problem is making sure they have a defenseman under contract for at least 2 more seasons that fits the criteria of 40/70 game threshold, which is why I believe you see, Juolevi, Chatfield and Brisebois(would need a 1 year extension), all getting a chance at a fair amount of games if the 2021 season ever gets underway. |

All they need really though is to have a few players for Seattle to pick from. I'm not sure on the rules but I believe just have to have a forward, defence, goaltender meet the requirements. Canucks will probably have multiple players for both that won't be missed too much if picked.
If maybe they only play a half season 40 games or something then it might be more of a problem for a lot of teams, as a lot of players need 40 games to meet the requirements. - manvanfan

Today's #ReachDeep Poll Q: You can have one young defenseman to build your NHL team around. Who do you choose?
Hughes
Dahlin
Makar
Heiskanen
————————————————————————-
Anyone see this? I mean, they’re all fantastic, I get it’s the off-season, but would you really complain with any of them? I’d pick Dahlin, he’s the youngest and he’s the biggest. - Pacificgem
I lean towards Heiskanen but it’s splitting hairs |

Myers is a 4/5 D at best. Sooner or later Van is going to find a replacement to which they can't be paying the 3rd pairing D 6M a season. - manvanfan
Myers is good if a true 4th D. 5th D only if 2 very good RHD ahead of him. We need OJ &/or Rathbone to make this happen. |

No. Need to protect 7 F’s.
Petey
Brock
Bo
Miller
Gaudette
JV
7th tbd
Better to risk Myers if Cernak was here. |

Off topic but kinda thought you'd appreciate this. I took my Daughter out for a day of vinyl shopping for the first time on the week-end for her birthday. She got a couple of MCR albums which sound awesome. I scored a British press copy of Powerslave.

Very cool. Curious about the British pressing of Powerslave? The NA pressings sound quite poor as I have the original and there heavyweight repress. But I think the Maiden catalog was poorly mastered as a whole...the CD remasters from 20 years ago sound quite good and are better than any vinyl pressing in almost every way...but having said that I would love to hear the 'British' one to see if it was better.
Just last year they released the whole catalog on CD remaster again and to me didn't improve them at all over the ones from two decades ago. The Maiden picture discs on vinyl are beautiful and very collectible but wow do they sound bad lol |

I went for the eq knobs a couple of times before the volume. That pretty much says it all. Very thin on the lows but still a decent addition. I doubt there's any difference between the British and NA pressings aside from maybe the weight. Honestly I am more impressed by how good MCR's Bullets came through for being a low budget production.

It’s too bad your dog ate your book. It would be fun to relive the “would you trade the Canucks roster straight across for the Vegas roster” immediately following the expansion draft... |

The real problems will begin when there's a significant injury to one of the top D. There will be some tough lesson's learned by these young kids.

The only one any good was the MOFI gold CD issue from the 90's...quite well done. I have the original pressings on vinyl but would have to go back and listen. They have a few greatest hits out but not sure on the fidelity...will get back to you. |
