JV would learn more playing with Petey & Miller. Boeser with Bo helps 2 line scoring better. If JV cannot show he’s taken another with them then back to middle 6 or trade bait. - Nighthawk
I like the secondary scoring of Virtanen and Gaudette. They should feast on other teams 4th lines again.
Has it been discussed of Beagle moving to the wing and letting Sutter play Centre? Beagle is tougher than Sutter on the boards. |

He was in the Edmonton bubble. He actually called games for the NHL after the Canucks were eliminated. He’s pretty well respected in the hockey community.
He also hates Trump - 1970vintage
They were not calling live . They called those games from video feed in Vancouver. They said so on their broadcasts I listened to multiple times.
There I go keeping record of what people say again.

He is referring to Hoglander, he has been critical of his height. - Makita
Very... I also decided to stop rounding up... he's top 3 or bust, hope I'm wrong about him but I don't think he's made for the NHL. |

They were talking about Green on SPNET today as being one of the top 5 coaches in the league. Deserves to stay long term and try and win a Cup with the developing core. You even praised him for doing a good job in the play offs. Maybe he's learned like JB has and you can accept him too. |

Doesn’t work that way.
Boeser + Toffoli <, > or = Boeser - Toffoli?
End of season compared to start of next season.
If you would like to pretend that Toffoli doesn’t exist, then how about:
Boeser + Madden vs Boeser - Madden (and a 2nd, which obviously won’t impact the coming season).
Edit, also, yes he (frank)ing was, don’t be stupid, your better than that. - 1970vintage
Boeser was injured and not playing when the season ended.
Toffoli was injured when the playoffs ended.
Ferland was injured and not playing when both the season and the playoffs ended.
The question was whether the team was better at the beginning or end, due to injuries and the fact that Toffoli just replaced Boeser due to injuries, I'll say the beginning, because having Boeser playing is better then having both of them playing. |

Sorry, are you saying you are Ian Mac?
I’d agree with what he said. The forward group isn’t as good, or deep as last season, the D is better at the top, but also surrendered depth and the goaltending is a huge question mark. Demko could be Schneider or Cloutier, Holtby will certainly be Potvin... - 1970vintage
I disagree, Toffoli was brought in because of the Boeser injury, without covid, they don't Make the playoffs without him.
The forwards will be better due to maturation, they only lost Toffoli.
People forget that he wouldn't have been able to be on the team if it wasn't for Boeser being on LTIR at the time of the trade, they never played a regular season game with both players on the roster, did they?
The D got better, Tanev was replaced with a better, quicker player.
I liked Streeter, but he was all heart, limited upside, OJ will be just as good or better in the limited minutes he played.
Goaltending, I am in agreement with you on, big question mark. |

With Benning I saw continued improvement, with Green he made adjustments in one series, I noticed and commented and gave him credit. But next series was awful. Yes pushed to 7 games , but was awful to watch the team collapse the way they did.

I stand corrected. I remember hearing he had gotten the honor of calling conference finals etc and assumed he was in ze bubble. But a quick interwebs search shows you are correct. |

It was 3 tough series & some injuries playing from blocking shots. Miller & Beagle for sure. The grind caught up to them & VGK over matched us. Demko made it a series. |

It was their 3rd tough series. VGK had advantage being the deeper team playing 3 games in 3 nights. That collapse keeping chances to the outside strategy almost worked. Only needed the Canucks to score once on their ample chances on the PP. Just faltered in game 7 with 6 minutes to go riding the hot Demko too. |

Boeser got robbed and Green chose the wrong goalie to play the second game of the back to back. Otherwise cup final for the Canucks. |

I don't know who Brendan Batchelor is, I'm guessing Sportnet or TSN, but personally I would never put Eriksson in the top 6, I would rely on Jake playing the big minutes, he would be heads and shoulders better than Eriksson.
This is just my opinion, but I'm no Brendan Batchelor. - Makita

Oh they would have beaten Dallas. Maybe.

What could’ve been if we had both Torres & Rome against the Bruins. - Nighthawk
Or maybe even Hamhuis and Malholtra.
It's 2020, the focus now on is if only we wouldn't have signed LE, Sutter, Beagle, Myers, to such rich deals.
At this point all FA deals are on the current regime as is any talent or lack thereof coming from the minors.
If there's a deficit in net, that's not on Gillis. He brought in a young Markstrom. IF the goalies can't handle replacing Markstrom's value that is entirely on the current regime.
Any credit for replacements also need to go to them.
