I disagree, Toffoli was brought in because of the Boeser injury, without covid, they don't Make the playoffs without him.
The forwards will be better due to maturation, they only lost Toffoli.
People forget that he wouldn't have been able to be on the team if it wasn't for Boeser being on LTIR at the time of the trade, they never played a regular season game with both players on the roster, did they?
The D got better, Tanev was replaced with a better, quicker player.
I liked Streeter, but he was all heart, limited upside, OJ will be just as good or better in the limited minutes he played.
Goaltending, I am in agreement with you on, big question mark. - Pres.cup

March 10th vs Islanders, both Toffoli and Boeser in the lineup. Lefty already posted the dates of injury, trade and return to the lineup.
Joe Levi “ will be just as good in the limited minutes he played”?
So his future self will be as good as his past self based on what, six minutes of thingy experience? Ok champ. |

Good thing I made my statement a question at the end.
How many games did they play together, what actual impact on the teams success did Toffoli have when Boeser was also in the lineup.
I really like Toffoli, wish we could have kept him as he's the type of player our team needs, 2 or three years down the road perhaps Podz can be that player.
OJ, I assume? I'm basing that I'm my assessment on his play and trajectory in the AHL, he's seasoned, it's time for him to play in the NHL.
Stecher was number 5 on the depth chart, ahead of Benn and Fats. Now number 5 is Benn ahead of OJ and Chatfield.
You improve the roster by improving the top of the roster not the bottom. Benn is overpaid and I'd rather a rookie there myself but incorporating one or two rookies isn't a big deal. Don't know what you have unless you play them.

I was there. I have never in my life experienced the concourse like it was between the 3rd period and overtime. So quiet. Creepy almost |

Look, you stated a fact that they never played together. It was refuted, and you doubled down but added a question mark... Boeser was playing 3rd line because he was shyte at the time. If you want to believe that the forward group is better this year than last, good on ya. I don’t believe they are, and only time will tell which is true. |

Watched it as well. That team was so good and so deep. Great balance of skill, speed, and grit. Hope this current version can get to that level. And finish the job this time. |

Better for the majority of the season?
Or are you cherry picking the one or two games that Toffoli and Boeser player together because of injury?
Do you truly think the defense is worse then last year?
That retaining Tanev and Stecher instead of making the upgrade and bringing OJ up would have been better?
Goaltending could be just as good or far worse... that's the only position I'll agree with you about. |

Someone mentioned yesterday we'll be a playoff bubble team again, which I agree with. If there's a Canadian division, who knows how things will unfold if they stay healthy.

Who knows what they would have done had they had the full roster (end of season) available all year. But that wasn’t actually an option because of their spending habits.
I’ve said a number of times the D got better at the top but lost depth. I think it’s probably a push short term. I would much rather have signed Tanev AND traded for Schmidt. Schmidt, Tanev, Myers on the right; Edler, Hughes and Joe Levi (or whoever wins that job) on the left.
I think Holtby was a waste of $4 per. He’s won a cup though, so he’ll have lots of fans in here. |

Yes, and if they had been able to sign AP, trade for Schmidt, resign Tanev and Markstrom, sign Toffoli, magically make LE, Benn, Beagle disappear, they'd be a better team, but with the cap space available they're close to status quo or better due to goaltending... I mean we do have a cup winner in net... |

Whining is a human condition that won't ever go away. Many come here only out of curiosity to see what others are whining about.
Canucks winning their first cup however would definitely relieve a lot of accumulated angst and alter the nature of the whining. That would be nice, don't you think? |

Tanev at two years for $4MM/yr would have been good. Are you saying Benning should have matched the 4 years at $4.5MM per that Calgary offered? |

What the emotionally fragile call whining, you and I & others call disagreeing.
Have a fantastic Saturday. |
