The 1918-19 NHL season was from Dec. 21, 1918 to Mar. 6, 1919. Only 3 teams played in the season and they played a total of 18 games. Hamby Shore of the Ottawa Senators was the first player to die of the Spanish flu in Oct. 1918.

Probably not but 2.9m isn’t getting Cirelli Sergachev & Cernak. TB will be biting bullets somewhere. Try your hand on how it could go
My weak scenario was:
Killorn Cernak 2021 3rd gets Benn for cap space. NJD was a 3rd team in the 3-way. - Nighthawk
The season hasn't even begun and we're already discussing 3 way trades..... |

I am going to give you the respect, others don't deserve, and ask what's messed up about getting a start date? Do you think conditions will change for the better? |

Good list
McDavid
Mackinnon
Draisaitl
O'Reilly
Pettersson
Scheifele
Kopitar
For me anyways. - Pres.cup
I the west only?
Mackinnon
Mcdavid
Draisitl
Shiefele
Orielly
Those are the guys i put above petey, i think he has the upside to be better defensively and enter the top three with Mc and Mac though.
I think Couture is a toss up, very underrated. Kopitar maybe 3-4 years ago, much respect but has lost a step imo. |

A 3rd, Benn and Tryamkin would get you Loui Eriksson or a similar “asset” - CanuckDon

That trade proposal doesn't look plausible based on what Bolts would want. But a 3rd did get you Schmidt and you were stunned they traded him to Canucks too.
Though offer sheet wise Cernak is at least a second. So the trade proposal has to be more pick wise and/or involve prospects/ELC's. Bolts don't want contracts or players they can't sign. |

Teams with cap can pilfer teams in a pickle. My earlier assertion of OS’s I retract. Bargain basement or even give-aways I see coming. Only thing saving teams like TB is a cancelled season. How that would work out idk. That is a whole other story for another day. |

I had a hard time with Shiefele, think Pete is more creative and dynamic, but very very close.
Hard pass on Kopitar.
Couture I put on a level with Bo, very good, not dynamic. |

I think they'll trade a 1st to move Johnson, trade 2 of Palat, Gourde, Kilhorn or Cirelli for a cheaper/worse replacement and keep the defensemen. They have the forward depth and continously find and develop guys who succeed offensively.
1st and Johnson to LAK for a 7th.
Palat to NSH for Jarnkrok
Cirelli to PHI for Myers
Would give them close to 12M to sign 3 RFA dmen.
Kilhorn Point Kucherov
Coleman Gourde Stamkos
Goodrow Jarnkrok Raddysh
Maroon Paquette Stephens
Hedman Cernak
Mcdonagh Myers
Sergachev Schenn

Being forced to trade Cernak is a pickle in itself. But there will be competition to get him. So like JTM trade there will be a cost to it. |

30yr old Johnson 4/5m in this cap world will cost a lot to move. The others nobody is stepping up for. TB will be extorted heavily. |

Schmidt cost only a 3rd. This isn’t the pre-covid days of getting Miller. It’s very lopsided buyers market. |

This lull is the only advantage TB has. Once or if a season plan is decided upon the real crap hits the fan. |

Yes there is no leverage to force things or get movement to clear cap. I brought up new prices and not saying costs will be the same as before. Each "sh!tuation" will have its own factors to it. Bolts can get at least a 2+ for Cernak; or, just let him sit until offer sheeted and take the 2nd. |

Holding Cernak hostage is very bad business.
The ‘shltuation’ is dire. 2.9m for 5 players to sign. Wings Sens Preds Kings & NJ are sitting like vultures. They all know it & can out wait TB. |

The Flag of Sweden J20 Nationell and other Flag of Sweden junior leagues have paused play until Jan 2021 at least due to Covid 19.
So Viktor Persson's game with Brynas' U20 squad today is cancelled. It would appear Persson will soon head to Flag of Canada to play for the Kamloops Blazers in Jan 2021. |

#Canucks prospect Jack Malone's 20/21 hockey season at Cornell is cancelled due to Covid 19.
Malone was 2-6-8 +11 in 27 games in his first year at Cornell last season and was expected to have more playing time in his second season. |

#Canucks #29 Jackson Kunz's secondary Red apple on his Green Bay team's 4-3 GWG.
Kunz is now 2-1-3 +1 in 2 USHL games this season

If he can improve on his skating. Top ceiling is probably Anders Lee.
Lee was 24 when he broke into the league full time. Has scored 40-60 pts in all of his season on avg. |

More talk on Governors call about the potential for a Canadian division and 3 U.S. divisions. Also the idea of teams playing 2-3 games in a row vs same team to limit travel and exposure. Sorta like baseball-style schedule. But again, nothing written in stone. Just ideas right now

You said the situation is not going to get better, which it isn't, it will get worse, so they should play anyways?
The league/owners can't put bums in the seats, so zero revenue comes in from that aspect of the operation, but expenses are occurred for air travel,, continual covid testing, ice maintenance at not just the game facilities, but practise facilities, hotel costs, food, hockey equipment, on-ice and off-ice officials etc.
The league has been talking with government about cross-border travel and quarantine, other rules that may be in place in different provinces/states.
The players need to be involved in the process and have been through the PA.
All of this and many other situations take time and like any business the dollars have to be considered.
At this time therapeutics and vaccines have nothing to do with a decision to announce a start for the 2021 season, keeping peoplesafe and the integrity of the business are at the forefront of any decisions. |
