Well.
There's nothing magical about it.
They could simply allow sports teams through, like the thousands of people still coming and going across today.
People are crossing the border, its not completely "closed".
However i do understand that biden taking over could change things - Fakepartofme
Essential workers are allowed to cross and many businesses are complaining that workers they need are not being considered essential. Allowing hockey players in ahead of them would be difficult. This would be more difficult that one time crossing to enter a bubble but daily entry, re-entries for scheduled games.
As Covid worsens in US, this will get harder Biden or no Biden |

I don't think it's a disadvantage at all. It's nice to get away from the regulars in the Atlantic. |

I for one, am glad the Habs won't face the powerhouse that were the Detroit Red wings last season.

As funny as it would be, i feel it will only lead to violence.
Hopefully he leaves peacefully and is arrested several months later. |

I was looking forward to a haircut today.
Wife just told me that getting a haircut on FR 13th means somebody you know will die.
Superstition is dumb but FACK I can't go get a cut now b/c someone somewhere who knew of me will die and it'll be 'my fault'. |

RIP everyone other than Simmonds against Weber - AdamFrench
I don't know if Weber would be intimidated by the 185 lb Simmonds, hopefully Simmonds can outskate Weber!

As Wedgie said, it's happening. Doesn't matter if we like it or not.
I for one, like it very much.
Competition will be very fierce between the teams and playing each other so many times can only boost the rivalries between canadian teams.
And hey, No Tampa in the way for a team to win the division! - Scabeh
The competition will be great, but the time zones are going to suck for the fans.
I'm assuming they will get a little creative and schedule as many east coast teams @ west coast teams on weekends, so that people can stay up to watch them.
There was also an article in the Athletic a few months back about "The Toews model" - a schedule he had mused about pre-COVID, to reduce travel. It was the baseball idea - play 3 or 4 games in the same city against the same opponent at a time.
I don't think it is viable - who wants to watch the same teams play each other 3 times? But back-to-back is something I assume will be happening.
100 years ago, I spoke with a guy who worked at the Mile One Stadium in St. John's, when the Leafs' AHL team played there. Because of the distance, AHL teams would play back-to-backs there. He said that it was great, because if the first game was rough, the second game was guaranteed to be a blood-bath, and a sell-out. |

Weber's arms are thicker then Simmonds legs. Simmonds might get a good swing or two in but then Weber would the win on a hard take down. Simmonds would then be out for 6 months. |
