Covid world & more expenses. I only guess no ex games. Intra-squad games & expanded rosters be my guess.

I think the short camp before the restart of hockey is not much of a indicator. Teams were already set. Players were expected to stay in game shape while on standby. Main camp and preseason will be longer than thingy camp.

Thanks Carol

@ASL
At least the number one fan meme didn't get me banned

It was considered but hopefully by deleting it sends the message that it wasn't appropriate.

Wow, that is awful news, hope everything works out and there are no long term effects for all infected.
- Makita

Thanks. She's a healthy person with a semi decent immune system. Don't know about the rest.

Just said that her 2 year old daughter tested negative for Covid.

It was marked SFW, I was trying to find one with an actual table fan but that one came up when I Googled "SFW number one fan"

Was just reading an article on a random site about how the rumour is that Tampa Bay has two trades going to happen soon for Tyler Johnson and Yanni Gourde.

Nashville rumoured to be where Gourde could be going and the Tyler Johnson trade is a team picks him on re-entry waivers and then a trade is made after for "future considerations"

My thinking was that Van could have got Alex Killorn if he had Van on his list. Traded for Tanner Pearson and Pearson is traded to anyone for anything since he's got no trade protection.

Clears 4.45 of off TB and Van gets a little better player then Pearson who JB wouldn't get anything for when his contract is up at the end of the season.

Taking on more cap is tough to manage. The days of getting nothing in return are not as big of a problem when cap space is considered. Asset management includes cap not solely on getting a return for players.

The world of the flat cap is the new reality.

The Canucks should be spending whatever cap they can clear or improvement on trades on RSD.

You should start reading someone with a bit more knowledge, re-entry waivers no longer exists.

No. Cap space leftover is needed til Ferland is retired on LTIR or not. The chance of getting RHD at a reasonable price is slim to none. Timing is simply not now unless a bigger trade happens. I rather lump it & see what the prospects can do & ride out some tough cap years.

No what?? Weren't you advocating going after Cernak!?? My point in response to Manvan was don't waste trade power or cap on forwards save it for RSD. We don't know when cap space can be made. But if, and when that should be, the #1 add for top positions should be RSD.

And where, pray tell, is this cap space going to materialize?

November is half way through and nobody has been forced to MTA?

No? What's with the waivers that if they sign a player mid season they are allowed to be claimed by other teams? Maybe it has a different name or maybe they are different.

Technically Johnson was placed on waivers earlier right. I guess if they never actually sent him down that he would just go on waivers again.

I didn’t start with clearing cap let alone enough to do that to get Cernak. Clearing cap on it’s own is costly. I suggested finding a 3-way to accomplish it. Even at that it wasn’t a good idea & is difficult.

Re-entry waivers was when a player was sent to m8nors, the had to clear waivers again upon recall to nhl, hence re-entry.
Also, hence why it no longer exists, it was a stupid rule.

The smart play is to be patient for when they have leverage. Not blow their load on a forward like you conjured up.

They are compliant waiving Sven and LE. If they can "later" get Ferland on LTIR; then, they can waive Beagle, and have enough cap to go after that RSD. Without Utica no leverage to get rid of LE. Plus its improbable to trade cap dumps of bottom 6 guys under flat cap.

I know how they worked. I know the rule now is 10 games or 30 days on the roster once cleared you can go back down without being on waivers.

What do they call it when a player like Kovy signed mid season and had to clear through waivers? He wasn't going to the minors.

Waivers are clearly just waivers now a days. Rule changed, term changed, got it.

I don't know if Johnson was actually assigned to the minors.
