I know how they worked. I know the rule now is 10 games or 30 days on the roster once cleared you can go back down without being on waivers.
What do they call it when a player like Kovy signed mid season and had to clear through waivers? He wasn't going to the minors.
Waivers are clearly just waivers now a days. Rule changed, term changed, got it.
I don't know if Johnson was actually assigned to the minors. - manvanfan
On occasion, these guys do a good job. This one here is decent, on this subject

Yeah, benefits the players more to not be stashed away.
Johnson would obviously just go back on waivers again and a team would claim him and make a separate trade later with TB as compensation which TB would have to then give up a little for picking him off waivers.
Just to get around Johnson NTC.

This guy always been one of those under dog hopefuls for me, that he contributes some day to the Canucks.
6 assists in 7 games now with two periods left to play.
Taken small steps forward every year. |

He has taken some steps for sure. Rootin for him.
It would be great if some of our later picks could turn out.
Good morning, beautiful morning. Time to rake. |

Not really an option when you trade the higher picks away. |

ELC's only last 3 years. Star players just take up too much cap space now a days. |

I blame the Oilers and Flames. Always signing their best players to contracts they aren't worth. |

They will sign for the max contracts of 20% cap. 16 million per. Canucks will be in great shape for another decade.π |

Tampa tends to give out contracts that are at least 3 years to long. |

I think it can be a shared blame.
Time to press box Loui, for good. |

Not a realistic option, can it happen, maybe it has in the past, but Eriksson doesnβt have the skill to walk away from millions and be picked up by another team...so a lose lose for Eriksson |
