I don't think you can really say this yet. He's spent the last few years trying to do two things at once - rebuild and maintain competitiveness - at the behest of McD (admittedly, this is complete conjecture on my part). This is the first time he's been in "true rebuild" mode.
He's also still saddled with a number of high dollar contracts that are difficult to move and take up a lot of the cap. Yes, you can argue that they were negotiated by Stan, but they were also done at a time when they were still trying to win now (except Seabrook's - that one still blows my mind). Regardless of what we say, he's got the reigns of this team and I'm optimistic on the (very) early returns.

The draft choices the past few years appear to be more promising in terms of quality talent whom I feel may develop into NHL players. The comparison I would give is the draft period 2010 -2015/16. The success of the prospects in terms of advancing to the NHL and establishing the value, though, is going to depend a great deal upon Stan to get with the rest of the league and bring in more toughness
Not just gritty players who compete. But players who will play a boards game, whom cycle the puck as it relates to the forwards. You see this in the NHL playoffs the past few years and realize (shoud we even make it to the playoffs) that we will get spanked if Stan doesn't toughen up.
I don't have facts or stat's to support my opinion. Just look at the skill and reports on our prospects, though, and believe good things are coming if only Stan toughens up.
