“The Raptors considered multiple temporary homes but Tampa was the preferred option among their players, who were consulted in the process, I'm told. That carried a lot of weight within the organization and ultimately swayed their decision.”

Raptors playing in Tampa being reported.

so much truth in this!

I think if people would scale back the conspiracy theories and just realize that throughout history, certain men have gained power by taking advantage of the populations fear and biases. Nothing has changed, it’s human nature.

Since the Shuswap Stallion declared it flag day. I got a super long boring debate sorta relevant to other debates (in the past and in the now).

I have always been pro free speech (good and bad)
I think everyone has the right to be a jerk, mortally superior, a racist even.
Society culls the yuck. Or the yuck finds more yuck.
Society weeds out the bad. Or it did.
I blame intersectionality.

Ilves 7 JYP 5 FINAL

Joni Jurmo 13:54 TOI -2 4 SOG 2 PIM

------------------
I know he's only 18 and playing in a Men's league. I was reading yesterday that the German league has almost caught up to Liiga.

In 12 games this season he has zero points (for a player that has great offensive instincts) and is a -6 in limited time and sheltered minutes(guessing).

After looking as well at all time Liiga stats for defensemen u20. The list of players that moved onto the NHL that I recognized was very very small.

I think getting him out of Liiga and away from Finland would be the absolute without a doubt best course for his development.

Tappara 3 Helsinki 2 FINAL-OT

Toni Utunen dressed as the 7th defenceman for the second straight game and was stapled to the bench for the second straight game with zero TOI. Slightly frowning face.

My opinion on communism is so low I don’t expect anything more than big brother type antics.

But I have to say, they ain’t alone in evil behaviour. Our western democracies have done a pretty good job at being evil themselves. I was reading about American atrocities the other night and my god it’s horrific. Australia was just on the news for similar military wrong doings. Canada’s behaviour can also be questioned at times.

I don’t know if any culture can be self righteous and point fingers. The Chinese government is just playing the game that the West established and they are doing it effectively.

What’s the old saying... don’t blame the player, blame the game.

No. Just got back from town. Did you just spend all morning drinking coffee and staring at your bank account? I bet you want to talk about it.

JJ's D is raw he needs a lot of work there. His offence was based on outskating players with his size and reach. Against men he's got to do more. But NightHawk liked Utunen so much saw him on future rosters. Its not going to bode well for him. At least they have a league to play in. I'm less convinced the AHL will get going.

I hope the Canucks can loan out some of their prospects to Europe. Hope players are willing.

Maybe Woo needs it but rest are there. The others like Lind and Rathbone will be fighting for roster spots and kept on the Taxi squad is what seems to be the plan.

Hi, Happy Friday.

Hope you're well.

New blog is up. I feel like the Holtbys' challenges as they try to get their tortoises into Canada is a symbol of what the NHL and the players are going through as they try to get this return-to-play plan worked out for a January start date.

you have been so careful to say that you can't generalize about certain groups but throw around "the elites" ad nauseum. who are they? and why are they (in your mind) acting collectively?

and if they are not acting collectively, what exactly is your point? that the disparity between rich and poor is evil? are rich people evil by virtue of being rich?

- RealityChecker

Wow, still reading far more then I'm putting out there.
I never said anything about Elite collectivism.
When I use the word elite it isn't the rich, it's the super rich that I'm talking about.
The disparity is inheritantly evil, some of the super rich are very bad people.
We live in a world of corporationism where the welfare of the plebiscite is a secondary concern to profit, this has resulted in slave labor sweat shops overseas, we don't see our care about these people because of the profits it creates within our stock portfolio.
I'm a business owner, capitalist land owner with rental properties, I'm either lower middle class or upper lower class. I am not advocating for a free ride, I do however recognize the hypocrisy of our so called free country that is propped up by slave labor and exploiting peoples overseas. If you can't see and recognize it you are by definition, one of the sheep.

Human nature and fears and biases lol...remember in a world of 7.8 billion people 75% or more across the globe still believe in false deities and 'higher' forms of power. It's not about scaling back theories it's about getting people to look at things realistically and from both sides. Which is almost systematically impossible at this point. Lots of division.
