I have VERY impressed, it's the best summer I have seen by a habs GM. Still they are 1-2 years of maturity of Suzuki and Kotkaniemi from being a top team. Also still need a puck moving PP quaterback

Hellebuyck does a fine job in the net.

yeah I don't necessarily disagree with this, KK and Suzuki will surely have some growing pains to go through... a true #2 puck-moving D would definitely be nice to have but I think they'll be fine at that position.

The Habs are a team built to try and grind out 2-1 or 3-2 wins, get in the playoffs by the skin of their teeth and designed to be a team you don't want to play in the playoffs. All this off season proved is that they're committed to this identity for the team. Nothing wrong with that. Being upset that a TV station ranks them behind teams like Toronto that are built the exact opposite - designed to light it up in the regular season and to fail miserably in the playoffs - shouldn't bother people

And they got bigger, better grinding tools in Anderson and Toffoli

I hear you but from a regular season standpoint an easy argument could be made for why the 5 teams ahead of MTL are where they are. Toronto, Edmonton, Vancouver, Calgary and Winnipeg all have better top end regular season scorers

Exactly. I'm happy with the offseason but not delusional and not going to let it cloud my thoughts on the coming regular season. The offseason was about moves to help ensure playoffs and then be a female dog to play against in the playoffs

Something tells me Doug Gilmour's top career moments were all in Calgary because other than crying about a high stick call that never came I'm pretty sure he didn't do anything of import in Toronto

We can do Mats Sundin if you'd like. Drafted #1 overall by the Nords and then accomplished nothing in Toronto. These are pretty easy when I use the dishonesty you've put forth

Naw this is more fun. Let's do Marner. After being drafted by his hometown team he cried about not getting bonuses on his entry level deal and then held out for a contract he isn't close to worth handicapping his team greatly and making a large part of the fan base of his hometown team hate him. But his daddy is happy.

I'm bored, got time and comparing/mocking the accomplishments of any player for the Leafs vs Roy for the Habs is pretty low hanging fruit. FYI you're essentially stealing Henny's shtick now so be proud, that's the company people want to keep
