JT Miller. - Load Management
I'd be careful with that one.
I wish JT nothing but the best, but his performance last season is an outlier until he can come anywhere near doing it again. In New York, he was not a grit or hard work guy. Gave flashes of his potential and didn't engage in the tough areas.
I'd love to think that he truly has grown and improved, but that remains to be seen. |

I believe the Team’s Players should pick their Captain not the Coach. Coach should stay out of that decision.
Yes Gallagher is the logical choice for Montreal.
How awkward was it for Brown in LA when he was stripped but still played there?
Keith in Chicago should have been Captain instead of Towes. - Tee56
That is a horrifically bad take. |

Yeah Captain Serious was captain material pretty much from day 1. The only time I ever saw him crack was when Zetterberg lived rent free in his head in the 2013 playoffs. |

Ek? I'm recalling a past blog you once wrote about Weber. It's very similar to what you're saying here.
I agree. Weber is still a force. - gergeswillems
I'll be honest, I don't come to this site to read Ek's blogs so I'm not sure what his thoughts were. |

Lol he's not even a top 5 player on that team - Thunder_daddy
Listen, I watch Elias Pettersson highlights every morning. He's the most skilled. Quinn Hughes is skilled too. But I'm talking heart and soul. And that's Brock Boeser. When he got hurt the team looked lost on the highlights. |

Brock Boeser is the heart and soul of the Canucks. Sorry Bo.

I pick Adam Gaudette as a future captain. If he's willing kick his bride in the head, imagine what he'd do to keep the boys in line! |

Here are my captain picks...
Taylor Hall in Calgary
Gaudreau in Philly
Lundqvist in New Jersey
Toews in LA
Doughty in Chicago
I was going to say Malkin, but instead of the "C" he should keep the "A". Just tell him that it stands for "Ace" and that should make him pretty happy for once.

Malkin gets a TM because he wants to be The Man. |

I was skeptical myself going into this season but he's a much different player in a different role with the Canucks. He was actually the exact opposite of the player you describe with the Rangers. Got his nose dirty, led by example, and a solid voice with the younger guys. With the loss of Tanev and Marky I can only see his role as a leader on our club expanding. He seems to relish it as well.

Ek any update on the rumour chart? On Monday you said you were working on a full update for the evening. That was over 3 days ago. Although I know it's possible that info keeps pouring in so maybe the percentages keep changing? |

Who's the top 5? - MisterBrown
Petey, Bo, Miller, Hughes, Boeser. So I guess top 5.
He's a scoring winger that doesn't really drive play. You can replace a scoring winger, first three guys I mentioned are all debatable #1/#2 centermen and Hughes is on his way to being a #1 dman. Not as easy to find those. |

I hate typing this cause I HATE the Hawks, Toews, Kane, everything about that organization. Toews is different. He lead the team to a dynasty that had 3 cups in 6 years. That’s a hell of a lot of hockey in 6 years. Toews IS their Captain. No one else on that team is deserving at all. - BluesDroogie
Not today for sure, but in 5 years? |
