Gallagher’s rapport with the refs will never allow him to be captain, nor would it be a good idea to appoint him C. Weber is the obvious choice and was the best choice.

I think he simply wasn't suited for the type of structure and level of commentary required to be a TV sports analyst (although you could argue the bar is already very very low lol), but in a setting where he's allowed to speak freely he's just way more comfortable

I always found the "lack of heart" argument to be very weak, at this level basically every guy does have the desire to win and be a better player. Drouin has his struggles, but I don't think it's because he doesn't care

21 in his last 27, taking his first playoffs as a rookie where he played on the 4th line with 5-6 minutes isn't fair. He was also a year younger, Drouin made the jump in the nhl at 19, Suzuki was 20. If you want to compare runs you have to compare them to Drouin's second season where he wen't 14 points in 17games

Some players are so talented that they can hang at this level without always competing and that's what drives people who watch and clearly notice it so nuts
