Everyone has different taste. Personally, I am a big fan of David Gilmore. Really enjoy most of what they play. He is one of the best guitar players of all time. - bixll
Heard learning to fly on the radio the other day. Made me think about how David Gilmour is basically the only guitarist to record using the Boss HM-2 while it was in production, because it was widely considered a piece of trash, though he made it sound great like everything he touches.
Now the made in japan versions of the pedal go for hundreds of dollars because a bunch of swedish death metal bands formed a cult following around it. |

Super talented.
As far as guitarists go, John Mayer is probably top of the charts as far as guitar players goes, these days.
As for slide players, Derek Trucks would be the top of the chart.

Not sure if you're referring to talent or popularity here but I think Gary Clark Jr. is more interesting and skilled than Mayer. How Gary isn't more famous is a goddamn travesty.
Edit: looks like he just won some Grammys and his last 3 albums were in the Billboard Top 10. Still, he should be a household name, damnit. |

Eric Clapton seems to think John Mayer is a true Master. His words. I believe him.
There are tons of amazing players. All in the style of music you enjoy. |

I think we’ve reached our destination as the Beatle’s predicted. Did you see his Broadway show/concert. It was strangely uplifting.
And Bix, I don’t think you should be flagged for your comment but I think you need some time for self reflection.
