That would be solid. Canucks just need to make one trade and they are good. I'd get rid of Roussel

Nobody is giving up a draft pick for any of the players the Canucks would be willing to move off of.

Canucks should get some extra picks now then. Why wait.

When I started watching Euro hockey games, Onhockey had many of the games that the Canucks prospects were playing in. Lately though not many feeds are working at all or they don't even have them.

I honestly feel that Hoglander has a 50/50 shot of having Debrincat like effect on the Canucks. He may be able to seemlessly fit on Bo's line and produce very well for a rookie, or he could need a year or two in the AHL. Kid has skills. And before anyone talks about his age/size, Debrincat played his D+2 season with the Hawks and put up 52 points in his rookie year, followed by 41g 76pts the year after. Similar draft position(39 and 40 respectively), size, work ethic, and skill level at the same age.

Everytime I see this guy I think of Bob Barker and the price is right.

I feel like Pearson, Sutter, and possibly Benn would have some TDL value if we are out of the playoffs and selling. Roussel could also have some value, but may need to wait a season as teams will likely want expiring contracts only this year.

This is where I hear Hoffman would ideally like to be. And Vancouver wants Hoffman too.. They have tried several ways to move out money and pen Hoffman to a multi-year deal. The chance is there that Hoffman could sign a single year deal in Vancouver.

I'm actually glad sometimes that JB has no money to play with.

reports that Dmitry Zlodeyev is out of action for a couple of weeks with an undisclosed minor injury. He also reports that Z was about to be called up to make his KHL debut with Dynamo M's top club when the injury happened.

Isn’t Jim all about high character people? Doesn’t really seem like a fit to me.

I don't know if Hoglander has the same skill level.

I think it was Cam Robinson who said that we might expect something like Emil Bemstrom from CLB. had 10g 10a in 56 this season.

I think the comparison to Gallagher is pretty good. I view more Marchessault. March was 25 when he broke into the league though.

I dunno, I have heard he has a high work ethic, strong on the boards, wins battles, good forecheck/back check and has a great pass. If this is all true, he could probably get 40 assists just feeding the puck to guys like Bo and Boeser.

I think Jim is looking for a bit more scoring. I don't know why. Team scored lots last year on the PP.
Hoffman is pretty useless 5v5
A top 6 penalty killing forward is what the team needs more

He is also about winning, If they found a way to make Hoffman work, his point production could outweigh his defensive woes on a like with Bo.

The list of great NHL players who didn’t have 40 assists last year is long...

They should be teaching their best players to play all situations instead of grabbing more chaff because they’re good in the room or on the PK.

What I’m saying is, isn’t this the guy who bullied a teammate about losing a child to still birth? Also, what is it about Jim’s tenure as a GM that suggests he is about winning?[/img]

You'd have to move out 2 contracts to sign him, or Ferland LTIR and 1.

I’m not convinced he would be an upgrade on anything on the roster except Lui. He would be the new Lui in short order. So hey, $6m x 6 years sounds about right.

40 assists Petey hasn't even reached yet.

Petey's draft plus 1 season he had 56 points in 44 games in the SHL.

Hoglander in his career has 39 points in 105 SHL games.

The chances of that happening are pretty slim.

I think his PcS right now is 31 points over an 82 game season.
