so apparently the Impact are to change their name to "Montreal FC"...? kinda silly imo - Pat1993
Might as well change the name of everything in the league to "FC". The sport is already boring enough as it is, why not all give them boring ass names.
fits with the sport. a lot of teams are named for the city in which they reside with the obligatory FC following because euros are idiots. - Gramps28
I know it's part of soccer culture, I just find it's an odd decision after trying to build a brand for so many years in Montreal while using that name. but hey, if they're taken more seriously because of this then so be it I guess lol

I think the idea is to put more emphasis on the city/location rather than the team name, but I also find it's very bland

Honnêtement c’est rendu un osti de sport de tapettes...dans les années 90 il y avait de l’intensité mais là c’est toutes des ostis de tapettes sérieusement. Quand un joueur fakait “dans mon temps” on lui spikait une jambe, ça le replaçait 😉
