Oh. It's not just your opinions on Nylander that are awful, I guess.
And literally no one thinks he's better than Sundin. If anyone has said it, it's to troll the people who hate Nylander for no reason. - GreatGigInTheSky

Don't know. I'm not a GM.
I also told you that the Leafs won't be trading Nylander to Philly. - GreatGigInTheSky
Your not a GM you say; yet then say leafs won't be trading him to Philly. Odd combo there. Not a Gm but knows what a GM is thinking.
You suggested a 1st, top prospect to get the conversation started. Which is a valid starting point if that is the type of return they want. So finish it. |

Barzal-Kopitar would make a lethal 1-2. Then I guess Byfield starts slow at 3C. Although there is still Vilardi and Turcotte coming. Kupari can play wing. Anyway, seems the Kings are actually pretty deep at center so not sure why Barzal would be their priority. But maybe a guy like Turcotte is involved in the trade. Like Barzal and Ladd as a cap dump for Doughty and Turcotte. Ek are you hearing any specific names out of LA? - Kooleus
Doughty has a no-movement clause in his contract that only he can waive.

I was trying to understand why Barzal was so drawn to LA. He's from Vancouver, so it's possible he likes the laid back west coast lifestyle better than the New York scene. Maybe he thinks NYI overachieved and wants to go to LA where he can grow with young talent like Byfield, Turcotte, Vilardi, Kupari. I'm sure Lou can't be happy that he is considering greener pastures so he won't hesitate to trade him in the right deal. Again, Ek has reported that this has been discussed so I'm just speculating on the names. |

i dont remember doing this... unless you creep me on the bird app...
its pretty lame gigsy when you dont try to counter my arguement and say dumb poop like "he's prettier than you" - Arctic_AARDVARK
You posted a picture of you at a Leafs game before.
No argument needed when that's straight up the reason you don't like him. |
|
|
|
Well then maybe its just Barzal for futures. Like if LA offered Byfield and Turcotte for Barzal, then that would really help the NYI rebuild.
What rebuild? They were a Final 4 team. |

Ek is the only person I know who broke the King Alex to the Kings on draft day story. He's connected. - gergeswillems maybe with the kings he is but not with the Islanders. the only one who has any info with Lou is arthur staple period, and even then only when Lamouriello wants to plant a story....
The Islanders have zero interest in your old and expensive players like Kopitar, Quick, Brown and Doughty. zero, in fact less than zero.We just Got an unexpected break with Boychuck deciding it was too risky to continue playing with impaired Vision, Why would we want your old declining veterans. We already have 3 cheaper and younger centers in Barzal, Nelson, and Pageau.
the same reason you want to get rid of them is the same reason we want no part of them, unlike the kings we arent rebuilding or looking to get worse

so creepy you remember stuff like that, because i dont.
ive laid out my reasons why i dont like him at 6.9mil. retorting back to "hEs pRetTiEr tHaN yOu" and not having any rebuttal might work in the Leafs thread, but you look like an ass when you have to bust that out here. |

Been the Marlies best player 2 years running and one of the better in the AHL. So, yeah. He's 21 man. Still a damn kid.
Yes, obviously.
Hmm... where in my "proposal" did I mention Sanheim? I said top Philly prospect and a 1st to start. Never mentioned Sanheim. - GreatGigInTheSky
Then you must want to give the Jets a ton for Niku since he won AHL defenceman of the year two years ago at the same age right? Or is it just Leaf prospects you overvalue? |

Ek was reporting about the Flames going after Markstrom for weeks before it happened. So I'm sure he has sources, but some rumours don't come true. OK so maybe the Islanders aren't rebuilding. But this doesn't mean there isn't a potential trade partner with LA. So maybe Barzal for Kopitar to give NYI some leadership. Also have you considered a 3-way trade. Barzal ends up in LA which Ek has reported is a dream of his. Maybe Byfield goes to Calgary and Gaudreau goes to NYI? - Kooleus
Give the Isles some leadership? They are the oldest team in the league, with a great Capt. |

Yeah but you just lost Boychuk and haven't signed Matt Martin. So another leader in the locker room could help. Anyway, Ek said its possible that Barzal signs in New York, but also possible that he gets traded, with LA being involved. Let's all just relax and see what happens. |

The funny part is that you think I'm a Kings fan. Actually the funnier part is your inability understanding sarcasm. But keep going. I look forward to hearing more. You'd think you could at least spell Boychuk's name properly. Since you're such a big Isles fan. ๐ |

"Mathew Barzal is VERY much on the LA Kings radar," a source told me, "and unlike what you wrote yesterday (I wrote that the Isles may be testing to see how much he wants to stay) I 've heard that he may want to be a King."

Yep!! Liljegren is 21yrs old and had 30pts in 40games last year. Leafs are not throwing him into any trade unless it's a slam dunk for them.
As for Nylander trade, Sanheim would be a poor return for the Leafs. Not too mention his now friendly 6.9mill cap hit.
Flyers won't move Provorov and have nothing else the Leafs would trade Nylander for on their d. |

Ek has had Nylander traded for 5 years now. One of these days it'll happen. He's had Malkin traded since 2004. There's still time before he retires. Barzal is just the latest flavour of the month. - gergeswillems
Leafs should turn Nylander into a power forward like Hoffman

- VANTEL
Woah Woah Woah... let's not get ahead of ourselves! We're talking about All time great power forwards here! Cam Neely. Tim Kerr. Eric Lindros. Mike Hoffman. Nylander doesn't deserve to have this pressure placed upon him!
I mean just stand in awe and admire the sheer dominance Power forward Mike Hoffman places on his opponents! What a steam roller! This is physical intimidation to the millionth degree!

Well Here goes
With the Democraps now running the USA, hockey is doomed!!! You cannot even go to church. Restaurants are closed for dining. A lot of schools are also down.
How in the hell are you going to play hockey. Yeah you can play but without people in the seats who is going to pay the bloated contracts to players.
Not enough TV money to support paying these guys inflated contracts. We may never see the likes of Crosby and Malkin play again.
Biden wants to shut the country down again and if that happens good bye HOCKEY |

an awful take is "lIlJeGrEn iS a ToP D pRoSpEcT"
I dont like Willys game because he's never proven to be any good w/o playing with an elite C. Also he was supposed to be able to play C, which he's shown he cannot. And he's brutal defensivly, and has ZERO jam.
Theres a reason why people call him "Melander"
and the vast majority you speak of are teenaged girls who think he's better than Sundin was.. - Arctic_AARDVARK
Actually heโs called Melander from his contact negotiations, nothing to do with hockey. Reading our fans boards to come up with your opinion is obvious. A vast majority of Leaf fans do like Nylander on his very team friendly contract.
Myers and Frost
For
Nylander
This might get the ball rolling but trading first line forwards with team friendly contracts costs the acquiring team a lot. |
