In the aftermath, Elizabeth Fraser found her Aunt Sophie.
“I saw my aunt, who was expecting a baby, dragging her little six-year-old boy by the hand. Her eyes were both blown out of her head and she was telling him to hurry; he was dead but she did not know."
My brother-in-law just bought himself a fairly decked out F150 a few months back. He's never been a "hands on" kind of guy but he ended up doing a bunch of renovations on his backyard / pool area this year. As a result of all of this work (of which 98% of it was done by contractors), he's started following (almost obsessively) construction, interior and exterior design instagram accounts.
He works in sales (printing industry) but now frequently sports a flannel jacket and can't stop yapping about renovations.
I mean, it's great that he's found himself a hobby but the $70k truck, flannel clothing, and tunnel vision reno talk is getting to be a bit much. Perhaps this is an example of COVID-19 driving people somewhat batty?
Which is to say, I doubt he'll use the truck much for anything beyond cosplaying as a contractor.

Crazy. I saw this picture of side by side 1980 and 2020 Toyota half tons a few days ago. I think with inflation, half a ton weighs a lot more today.
Man, Zakk Sabbath seems like it should be a joke but their cover of the entire Black Sabbath album is modern and faithful without being a copy.... really well done.

It seems like yesterday that I bought the Paranoid album, it might have been 1970. I had a decent stereo and when I put it on I can still see my parents faces. When iron man started playing it was priceless.

That is nuts! - mjones242
I know. The SUVs are pretty much the same. I see women driving SUV versions of the same monsters on their way to Pilates and back. I think for them it’s a feeling of safety from the scary world of Ontario suburbs.
When our kid was playing hockey and we driving him and buddies around (he’s a goalie so lots of stuff) my wife insisted on a big ass Expedition (for the kids).

We bought a Forester recently. Perfect size for our needs in T.O...
Wouldn't get a sedan unless I already owned something bigger, not practical enough.

I really, really, really miss my minvan.
Comfortable. It was a good price. 14 cup holders.
And it could fit a family of four, dog, and all the camping/hockey/skiing stuff you needed.

I'm a no kids guy but I moved some stuff from MTL to Toronto in a grand caravan with stow and go seating.
I'd actually buy one if it wasn't a Chrysler, and if having a van while having no kids didn't make me look like a creepster... it was super convenient and not terrible to drive.

I just bought a 20 Toyota Sienna. The plan is to turn it into an off-grid camper. I already have everything I need to transform it but the actual work will probably have to wait till spring.
Depending on the COVID situation we’re going to do a summer long cross country road trip. I’m amazed at how nice it is to drive and very easy on fuel.

We got a loaner a few years back when we had to get a dent removed - they gave us a GMC Yukon.
It was franking ridiculous in the city - forget about finding a parking space.

You're going to do this with a brand new vehicle? - Atomic Wedgie
Yes but there will be no alterations to the vehicle. Just take out the second and third row seats and build a bed that converts to seating for daytime use. I also have a portable solar system that I can charge off the car battery while driving, or solar panels when parked.
The main reason for using a new van is because I know nothing about the mechanics of a car. If I break down I don’t even lift the hood, I just start walking.
