Eric Duhatschek has a Red Wings/Tampa trade suggestion...

https://nhltradetalk.com/...ing-3-player-trade-rumor/

It seems more likely that TB would trade with Detroit, not only because of Stevie and JBB being close, but because a modest improvement in the worst team in the league would not be any kind of threat to Tampa's dominance.

Looking at the roster, it looks as if Biega and Erne would be waived, and maybe a 3rd forward be waived or traded (Gagner ?) then Sveth could come up.

I was thinking Johnson, Killorn, Barre-Boulet, Coburn and a 1st for Erne, Biega and a 5th. We're fine at RD with Hronek, Seider and Lindstrom. Brisebois already said he's not trading his RFAs. So I'm not sure why Duhatschek is suggesting Cernak?

Tampa can bury Erne in Syracuse. He'd likely clear waivers. If he doesn't, who cares? Tampa has enough forwards like Katchouk and Raddysh they could call up if needed. Heck they could call up Witkowski's corpse.

I included Coburn to get Tampa under the Cap. Cirelli 3 years 4 mil AAV. Cernak 3 years 2 mil AAV. Bridge deals. Volkov and Joseph each get 1 year 700k. That gets Tampa just under the Cap. Biega is a cheap D. Getting these guys to waive their NTC's? Good luck with that.

So for Detroit we'd have to bury Nielsen so Svechnikov has a spot. He's out of waiver options. Get Johnson's value up giving him top 6 minutes. Hope Seattle claims him in the expansion draft. Flip Killorn to a contender at the trade deadline. Maybe Coburn too if he's healthy.

But for me I don't make this trade unless I'm getting Barre-Boulet included! 👍

Yeah we're not threatening any team. 😂

Maybe they've been hammering out a deal the whole time? 😉 GM's tend to make trades with GM's they know and trust. There's a comfort factor there. Not always. But we see this all the time. How many trades have Yzerman and Gorten made together?

It's amazing to me how Stevie's excellent drafting is still paying off for Tampa's next wave of talent. Unbelievable.

Seider won't be available til late in the season.
I like Cernak because he can easily be flipped to a team that needs a tough D-man for at least a 2nd...maybe a 1st.....
Winny would want him along with Toronto, Calgary, maybe Boston, or St. Louis.....trade for Vince Dunn!

Erne likes in on the Tampa farm team ......Who knows, if he plays a few games for the Bolts he could get his name on the Cup!

Erne likely has a future working for Aylmer. He's a tomato can.

The Wings need a top shelf NHL center. A guy that can make plays with his mind and set up wingers for high percentage shots. This team scares no one on offense. Until they have a serious play making C, they will struggle. Right now our C's are really pretty much converted wingers. Not one of them should be asked to set up a PP from the half wall or the point.

That is why I was hoping for Rossi rather than Raymond in the draft. But maybe the Yzer-plan is yet to reveal his finding that play-making center, and we shall see that in a year or two. BTW Theodor Niederbach is a C, and he has been invited to the Swedish World Junior team. He is 19 yo.
