Double headers, would have to be back to back nights. - aries1976
What you are describing is back-to-back games, on separate nights. I once thought this was logical. Friedman reported that too. But sources have confirmed that doubleheader are in the mix. The same teams play 2 games, on the same day, on the same sheet of ice. I'm sure the NHLPA won't like it, but this is 99% certain. |

I figured for some time now that it would be a 48 game season starting Feb 1. Now players and owners have to agree on how much of a cut they want to share of the salary. I see Taylor Hall paid 8 mil to play 48 games and shake my head.
I am not a fan of an all Canadian league at all. My team is the only team in the entire league that will be required to play half of their away schedule in a time zone of 3 hours difference.
I for one am a fan of come back in September and scrub the 20/21 season. - VANTEL
A Canadian division is literally the only way to do it, given the border situation.
That said, with that many teams making the playoffs, I think it does open the door for an unbalanced schedule. They could have Vancouver play CGY/EDM/WPG 10 times each and TOR/OTT/MTL 6 times each, for example. I think the primary wrench there is trying to figure out what to do with Winnipeg since they're basically in the middle of the country, but I think grouping them with the western set makes the most sense. |

It's stupid.
But worthy of the fourth sport no one really cares about nationally. |

Just start the playoffs in January, single game elimination, be done by March.
You're welcome.

The whole season, along with the 2020 playoff bubble, will eventually be marked with an asterisk in the record books.
But I guess it’s better than no hockey at all.
One thing though, if 24 teams are making the playoffs, only the 7 who don’t should be in the draft lottery. If you’re given a shot to win the Cup, you don’t deserve a lottery pick. |

That so far is the most rational solution . They could do a 9 game road swing in one swoop in the East one time.

Canucks double headers will be very important. Fans will want to see Canucks power forward Mike Hoffman as much as possible. So he can pitch in game 1 and DH in game 2. I think this will work. 👍 |

Let Covid cull out the weak franchises. Time for a little herd immunity, baby. - Canada Cup
If the end result for COVID is a 28 team league I think it will have been worth it.

Yeah, in St. Louis only a little over a year removed from a Cup even. No wonder the Blues almost ended up in Regina. |

In BC we have a Power Forward HHOF . So far only Bertuzzi is in it but he hangs on the Left Wall which is the wall of divided feelings. Hopefully Hoffman will make us proud.

Ek if a 48-game season is a 99% certainty...then what's the other 1%?
Also, I was hoping you would comment on my virtual reality goggle idea as a way to generate massive league revenue. This is how you watch games. Do you think the NHL could partner with a tech company and create a premiere subscription service? When the Cup is presented will there be room on the ice for all of us? |

Plus we are only here to begin with because Wirtz wanted to dump his ownership in the old arena. |
