Hey, don’t judge Rod Stewart by what he turned into. He had an amazing talent that he pimped out but in the two albums with Jeff Beck he’s right up there and in my view, better than Plant. He’s got a straight up blues sound that just pours out You Shook Me that they recorded 8 months before Zeppelin and they did in a more bluesy sound.

When I saw them, Plant could certainly hit higher notes but it was kind of like he was wailing.

Beck and Page were both Yardbirds alumni. Page was recommended by Clapton when he left. Page declined because he was busy giving guitar lessons and doing some studio work so he recommended Jeff Beck. later Page later joined as a bass player. It's not really important who is better, its a matter of taste and opinion. I feel technically Beck was more skilled as a guitarist, however, Page wrote much better stuff. Here's something you may not have heard - some good old fashioned surf music. I wonder if you heard of these guys - only had one album.

Seriously though, other than Ottawa all the Canadian teams are all within reach of each other, no team really stands out. Toronto has four talented forwards but there’s a big drop off beyond that, only Ottawa was worse defensively regarding GA, plus they played in the weakest division in hockey getting to play against both Ottawa and Detroit six times last season, winning all of them.

Jets had 37 wins, Oilers had 37 wins, Leafs Flames & Canucks all had 36 wins, Montreal had 31 wins and Sens had 25.....as I said, all five of the first teams mentioned have different strengths and weaknesses.

I don’t think the Leafs have the best team on paper....Merry Ho-Ho losers

Lefty, your comments about Toronto's forwards apply much more to the Canucks.

Convenient of you to leave out Tampa and Boston... Also Toronto being in that division makes it possibly the hardest division.

You’re not wrong, although I think it probably rings true for all the teams, which is why they’re all mediocre teams at this point.

Leafs - Matthews, Tavares, Marner, Nylander
Canucks - Miller, Pettersson, Boeser, Horvat
Jets - Scheifele, Connor, Laine, Wheeler
Flames - Tkachuk, Gaudreau, Monahan, Lindholm
Oilers - Draisaitl, McDavid, RNH, Yamamoto

Canucks - Eriksson, Virtanen, Beagle, Baertchi, Sutter, Gaudette, Luongo, Ferland
Leafs, Robertson, Kerfoot, Mikheyev, Hyman, Simmonds, Vesey, Spezza, Thorton

Yeah I guess Canucks bottom six is much better.

At least some of Wilson's boys were good at some point. Was Loui Eriksson ever a good player? In the 70's we had the six million dollar man, Loui Eriksson is the six million dollar piece of sh!t

Loui had a few good seasons with Dallas and Boston. He even scored 36 goals one year. Signed his big UFA contract in Vancouver and has totally $hit the bed there.

Half of their team are Leafs prospects, plus they’re blue and white.

Go Fins!

This will be the first time since the immortal Maxim Kondratiev, that I recall getting to cheer for a Russian prospecvt!

Edit:the 'V' in prospect was a typo, but since it looks kind of cyrillic, I'm gonna leave it.

I’ve projected the Leafs on paper to be 1st only.

The division has a very interesting mix of teams that I wouldn’t put real money on to place anywhere. Even the Sens whom should be 7th but a condensed short season affords for many strange things that could happen.

The other 6 teams could finish in any order given roster make ups that are not close to perfect. Injuries would decide many teams fate & those who are luckier will do better.

This season will be more a sprint & will come down to consistency. That will be the challenge.

Campbell really helps
TJ isn’t all that much of a D upgrade.
Old fogies bottom 6 not impressed.
Team D means top 6 also... no faith in that.

Entertaining divisions with star power throughout. Great C’s & scoring for sure. Only Calgary & Montreal have solid D. Injuries & consistency will decide the standings.

Sens last all the rest is a pick em.

This is true but still ignoring the results.
It can only get better.

How many good expensive players can a team have & not get results?
There is hope it can better. Only 40m reasons.

Yes somewhat but is more like top 4 instead. His D is better than Barrie but not what many Leaf fans are hoping. Still is a good upgrade. I maintain it comes down to the top 6 to buy into better team D.

19pts +7 not the greatest stats with Giordano but still a good mobile skater.

For the money & role Tanev is a better value.
