Leafs have to make the playoffs first. Didn't fill that many of their holes this off season. But in the NHL you never know 🤷‍♂️

Adding to your post there are many players to sign &/or trades to come & rosters to be set. So premature to guess.

I’ve projected the Leafs on paper to be 1st only.

The division has a very interesting mix of teams that I wouldn’t put real money on to place anywhere. Even the Sens whom should be 7th but a condensed short season affords for many strange things that could happen.

The other 6 teams could finish in any order given roster make ups that are not close to perfect. Injuries would decide many teams fate & those who are luckier will do better.

This season will be more a sprint & will come down to consistency. That will be the challenge.

Campbell really helps
TJ isn’t all that much of a D upgrade.
Old fogies bottom 6 not impressed.
Team D means top 6 also... no faith in that.

Entertaining divisions with star power throughout. Great C’s & scoring for sure. Only Calgary & Montreal have solid D. Injuries & consistency will decide the standings.

Sens last all the rest is a pick em.

- Nighthawk

Considering how bad the leafs D were....TJ is an upgrade.

But overall, yes, the leafs are not miles ahead of any other Canadian team, except the sens. The leafs should win the Canadian division, but I wouldnt be surprised if they didnt.
But we'll see sometime next year or the year after....or maybe never who knows.
Meh.

That and they need their best players to play up to their potential when it matters. For the most part, they didn’t do that last year.

In a nutshell true. Added travel will balance out competition ending up for a fun race.

A lateral move imo. I think Holl will prove to be better than TJ. Sandin or whomever can play right side will supplant him soon enough.

A slow start can sink any team in a hurry.

Ya that was said the year before as well...although I thought AM played great all year.
Hopefully it occurs this year or next.

Oh boy.
Holl will prove to be nothing more than 3rd line D man.
Im hoping Sandin proves to better than TJ....that would be great.

Adding a first overall pick and a black guy was good work

And they didn't drop loads all over the salary cap

Maybe so but that’ll tell you what I think of TJ. Sorry

Sandin will be better I’m sure of it.

Freddy had a down season, and that will affect perceptions on how good/bad a team is defensively.

Barrie (bad fit) and Ceci are gone, Brodie and Lehtonen/Sandin are an upgrade imo.

I dont know yet what to make of the depth adds Thornton, Simmons and Veysey

and right out of the gate the backup situation feels stable.

id expect a 100-105 point team..if a full season played out

I haven't seen Lehtonen play once.

But I'm also pretty confident he's better than Ceci.

Mostly because everyone is.

Lol

Rudy’s crazy lady star witness was a camera girl who was had just finished a year of probation after a plea deal where prosecutors agreed to drop first degree obscenity charges.

I wonder if she helped Rudy tuck his shirt in before the hearing.

Freddy was awful and at one point his stats were identical to Hutchinson. He was horrible. Then he whiffed on at least one goal in each of the 3 playoff losses.

He improves, or nothing else they did matters.

I need to be convinced. I heard the Zaitsev hype and we know how that ended up.

D & in goal will be more stable. Old guys & bottom 6 is unimpressive. More travel & tighter competition. .620 win % my guess.

Less pressure & not burned out should help him. Campbell needs to lighten his load.
