My uncle knows him relatively well, and the way he makes it sound, he's a much different person than he used to be. - TheSabresTaco
Maybe he is. He sounds like a Richard every time I hear him talk. I want one ring for Allen so I don't have to hear about him as much. He'll be a HOFer who almost did what Allen did |

Joe Flacco won SB MVP and the 49ers out rushed Baltimore 2-to-1!
Are you saying that game proves QBs don't matter? It proves the opposite. His run was like the Hamburglar. He got ridiculously hot - jcragcrumple
Joe Flacco also beat Peyton Manning and Tom Brady and the height of their careers that year.
He was an average QB, with a running game and a defence.

How in (frank)all is this still an argument. The outlier of a successful franchise is the an elite D coupled with an elite run game WITHOUT a great to elite QB.
It's like thinking the Sabres should be good last year despite analytics suggesting they shouldn't, because their bottom 9 is an embarrassment. Yet they started hot. And they died. Because that's what eventually happens to almost all teams without an elite QB. They (frank)ing die. Like this argument. - TheSabresTaco
The Sabres have a top 5 Center in the NHL and don’t even make the playoffs. We are the Houston Texans of the NHL.

He won SB MVP while the 49ers outrushed his team 2-to-1. It's over. It's done. QB's are where it's at.
I finally get it though. The one time your team won a superbowl in your lifetime it was with a decrepit Payton Manning and a terrific defense. So from your perspective that is THE way to win.
That narrative does not jive with the current NFL, or really 90% of the past, as has been repeatedly proven to you. You are in the cult of "run and stop the run." Some day you will realize you've been brainwashed.
20 years of poopty Broncos QBs should do the trick |

The average QB got hot.
Any one of these average QB’s can get hot too and win the SB.
If Baker Mayfield wins the SB this year am
I supposed to believe he’s Elite ?

I went to Jim Kelly camp a few times as a kid. He'd drive around on a golf cart and sign autographs (Take note, Samson)
He drove up to me, I dropped mine, he ran it over, looked and me and drove away like he was holding up a foursome on the 16th hole.

I'm glad we have Allen now so I don't have to listen to as much Jim Kelly idol worship. He's such an arrogant ass. I cringe every time he talks - jcragcrumple
Jim Kelly has changed.
He's a good guy. Very Buffalo. very engaging. Nice.
my son took his camp, Jim was super involved, came up and chatted with us Dad's. Great experience.
Funny part, there's about 40 games going on simultaneously and Jim jumps in and plays qb for a few plays.
He tells all the kids in our group, "keep it short" something about his arm.
My kid, obviously not paying attention, goes deep.
Big throw, Bigger catch...... 50 yard bomb
Video proof 🙂 |

I hope Allen gets a ring in the next few years so Jim Kelly can be the 2nd best QB in franchise history. Allen is already going to break a few of his records this year. - jcragcrumple

Projects us last in division
I’d assume because the goaltending and defense as projected are still awful
Cozens and Dahlin can lift this but only by so much.
Adams or Pegula or whoever is running the show botched what could’ve been a meaningful offseason |

It was fun as a kid. Not sure when your kid did it but we did it on the turf in the stadium.
He used to throw balls into the stands to kids and parents

doubt the hawks would take on okposo
I know terry explored getting kane a few years ago
hall, eichel and kane would be scary good for a playoff starved franchise in a shortened season |

The last two games Mahomes played last year he played Ryan Tannehill and Jimmy Goroppolo.
Both ran the ball and played good defence.
There is only one Patrick Mahomes.
The Houston Texans had an elite QB, had a 20 point lead, and still managed to lose by 20 |

it's what I would do, not what I would expect to be a good trade. Absorbing that cap is a huge problem. Or, send Hall back, with Riso. Not sure it really makes sense, but you could.
Seems highly unrealistic at this juncture. You can wave goodbye to Hall after this season if you pulled that trade |

Ryan Tannehill was one of the leagues best QB’s when he took over for Mariota. Tannehill has always actually been pretty solid.
Watson is great
Mahomes is fantastic
Lamar Jackson led the league in TD passes
Last four teams left were 4 QB’s playing at incredibly high levels.

Tannehill literally played the role of Alex Smith while Henry ran for 180 yards + two weeks in a row in the playoffs.
Shut down Henry and you beat the Titans. |

You haven’t seen Jake Plummer in the super bowl. You haven’t seen Jay Cutler in the Super Bowl, you haven’t seen Kyle Orton in the super bowl, you haven’t seen Tim Tebow in the super bowl.
All four above, have played with top 5-10 defenses. All four of the above had good/great running backs.
You have seen Manning and Elway go to 4 Super Bowls though.
The QB is more important. It’s not a debate. I can’t believe I keep responding to this.
I think it’s because you’re usually pretty logical - sbroads24
Great, more of this |
