Probably.

Edit - if Cam Neely had remained in Vancouver his whole career he would never have scored more than 21 in a season...

- 1970vintage

If the Canucks would’ve kept Cam Neely and the draft pick they gave Boston, they would’ve taken local boy Joe Sakic. Canucks would have at least two Cups by now

Burke for years has talked about how close he was to having the 1st, 2nd and 3rd and he dodged the bullet.

- boonerbuck

My mistake then. Burke had the first overall pick from Tampa Bay (1st and 3rd) but then flipped the first to Atlanta for their second with a promise from Waddell to not touch either twin.

Thought I read that he had no interest in Stefan but knew others would so he took advantage of that to get 2nd and 3rd picks.

I thought I read that Burke even held off reporting all his moves to the NHL so not to tip off other GMs to what he was up to.

I heard Burke say as much in a radio interview earlier this year.

There's plenty of interviews to contradict what you thought you heard. Here's one...

Starting at 2:30 he goes into that they were perusing Stephan, and the deal was eventually shot down.

Good show. Lots of movie actors take up roles in this series. Sam Neil was excellent and probably my favorite Tom Hardy performance is in this show.

I do like my British gangster stories. From Guy Ritchie stuff to Sexy Beast to The Kray Twins, it’s so entertaining.

Saw the movie “Bronson” a little while back. Another solid British flick.

Hi,

New blog is up, with positive forward motion on the NHL's return to play plan and a few thoughts on what that might look like for the Canucks.

Yeah that’s what I thought too. But I’m not going to argue it as I think we got the best out of that draft.
